I read reports that beta users were getting great battery life under 3.1. I wasn't prepared for how big the improvement would be.

I have a Series 1, and I had 75% battery left after 16 hours yesterday. After charging it over night, I have 97% battery after 6 hours. This is with everything turned on like location services and background app refresh. So far I haven't had any strange reboots like I had under 3.0.

I would say this is an amazing update for the watch.

I've noticed a big leap also. Currently on 73% after 11 hours. And his is on a Series 0 42mm. Can't imagine what the difference will be on the series 2 with the bigger cell.

My series 0 has actually gotten a little worse. I even unpaired/repaired. In WatchOS 2 I generally finished my day with roughly 25-35% left, with a 1-hour workout. Now i'm down to 10-15% with a 25-45 minute workout. Anything I can do?

I'm with you. I've been off the charger since 7 am (8 hours). Down to 66% with only minimal usage.

I haven't noticed a difference between 3 and 3.1 but I am very pleased with the battery in AW2.

And 75 minute workout without GPS brought my battery from 95% to 88%. That's incredible to me. Starting at 10pm with 100% and waking up with 95% 7-8 hours later and then doing a 70-75 minute workout and sitting at 88% is excellent.

Still too early to make a definitive judgment. However my S0 seems to have longer battery life EXCEPT when using the Workout App. Battery drain seems to be about the same (or slightly worse) when the Workout app is running.

Agreed. I was actually surprised yesterday night when I decided to put my Series 1 to charging before I went to sleep. It still had 65%. So I decided to sleep while wearing it.
It's the second day and I still have around 40%. Again with background app refresh on and everything.

Sometimes, the updates which don't get too much hype are the most efficient ones apparently.

This is what I experienced as well. My AW SO is at 42% right now after just 12 hours and a 60 minute Workout App run this morning. This is about what I saw with WOS3.0, so nothing really changed for me.

I'm at 41 hours off charge, 2 work outs yesterday and 1 today and I'm at 25%. I was worried about battery life but I'm very happy with my S2.

im having some incredible battery life as well on my 42mm SS series 2 apple watch, left home with 100 at 10am and its now 9:47 pm and im at 85 percent

Confirmed on my S2 as well, greatly improved battery life with watchOS 3.1.

Before I would have about 40% of battery life left at the end of a usual day.
Now it's 70%! I'll definitely check whether the watch will last two days on a charge. Would be a huge improvement in my opinion.

Really great battery life, I wore my series 1 for 24 hours straight and it was at 40% so it can last two full days if I don't wear it during the night.

My wife uses the pillow app and so far she's been able to wear it all night and during the day by charging it for a couple of hours when she gets up in the morning before leaving for work.

Amazing update! I was a little bummed after spending the money on an edition that after 16 hours of use my battery would be around 10-15%. Wore my watch 16 hours yesterday after the update and it was at 51% when I put it on the dock for the night. I'm thrilled!

Took off charger last night. Put it on this morning at about 6:30am at 95%. It's 8:30 pm now and I'm at 44% with 2 ten minute walking workouts. Seems like it's draining more than it should. Never been able to get the battery life everyone else is getting...annoying.

51% drop on 14 hours with 20 minutes of continuous HRM is great. That's over 28 hours off the charger. I was barely getting that on OS2
