watchOS 6 > What features are you most excited about?

Help needed with Series 2 - I cannot upgrade it to watchos 6 beta. I have iphone X with latest DP of 13.1.
I downloaded beta profile for Watch but upon installation it never offers to restart the watch. If I restart it manually (both watch and phone) and then I go to software update it always shows thath I have the latest version - 5.3.1.
Beta profile is shown under watch profiles. I tried repairing the watch but that was a waste of time.

I think the series 2 version of watchos6 is out later this month.

I have an issue with App Store and Apple ID. My phone keeps asking me for my Apple ID password and always returns Verification failed. An unknown error occurred. It gets really frustrating and I can’t find any solution. Is this a common issue?

Do you think there will be chance they will allow the compass app to be installed on the series 3.
I have searched for a native barometer app that can be used in some of the watch displays.

I have watchOS 6 on series 3 and since the update from 5.3.1 the lock comes on while I am wearing watch. I have toggled wrist detection off and on again but still occurs. Interestingly it did not lock while I was doing a workout. Doesn’t appear to be a particular time interval but it’s only been a couple of days so far .
anyone else seeing this?

Do we expect an actual usable AppStore to appear at some point in the phone Watch app as opposed to a tab that just gives a full screen non functional advert?

I REALLY dislike the AppStore on the watch and after a few days trying I doubt I’ll ever look in it again.

As a user this means I’m unlikely to see or use watch only apps...and if that’s my approach then it’ll be similar with others and that segment won’t be supported by developers.

Why can’t watch only apps be found by the App Store inside the Watch app?

It’s frustrating the series 3 has an altimeter/barometer and no way to read the values easily- similar to Garmin and other adventure/sports watches.

I don’t really care for the compass app although I thought the gps could drive the compass to some extent.

I’d love for a native app or even 3rd party app that could mirror the barometer and altimeter values in real time to one the watch faces.
I got really excited to see a native barometer function added to the os6. Disappointed it needs a compass functionality to drive it.

Currently this is the best I have got.
It just links to a 3rd part altimeter app that I then need to open and wait for it to calibrate.

Oh wow, i didnt realize that the appstore is now only on the watch - who in hell made such a stupid decision? that person should be fired... if it was hard enough earlier to find something useful, now it is impossible.
 
It should be possible to go to app store in watch app on iphone, but i don't have that "discover watch apps on iphone" label on my iphone.. I can only see this picture... Anyone have this problem?

How do you know that it is still available? I just checked apple support pages and they say that ”getting an apple watch app on your iphone, open the app store, then search and use a frase ”apple watch” to find apple watch apps.” Great!

Because some users have that option on iphone.. I'm just not sure if they have maybe installed beta 13.1 ios on iphone.. It look's like that.

If I haven’t checked my Watch in a while, I’ll get a huge delay in tapping the screen and it actually turning on. I’ll touch the screen and it literally won’t respond to any taps then a few seconds later the screen will come on.

also, since getting my 11 Pro, reading texts on my phone still leaves them unread on my Watch, and only new texts that I've received since getting the new phone are showing on the watch.

YES! I notice this too. There is a stupid delay of the screen turning on sometimes! I get there are gonna be bugs in software but bugs that hamper CORE FUNCTIONALITY like checking the damn time, etc is total BS.

Also that same bug affects my XR now on iOS 13. Sometimes I lift the phone and it won’t wake up right away or I’ll have to tap the screen.

How the hell does this stuff make it past basic bug testing phases????

Guess Series 3 was left out too dry. Oh well...
 
Wondering if anyone else has seen this? I have a series 5 running watch OS6 however when I sign into my developer account and look for a watch OS beta profile there no watch OS beta to be found. I figure it's because they've not released a 6.1 developer beta yet but surprised there's no profile available?

It's not. You can still access it on your phone. There's a section in the App Store dedicated to Watch Apps, and the App Store tab in the Watch app will forward you to it if you scroll down to the bottom. On mine, there's a wide button that says "Descubre apps de Apple Watch en el iPhone" (Discover Apple Watch Apps on iPhone). That takes you to the "Apps para Apple Watch" (Apps for Apple Watch) section in the App Store app.

Or you can go straight to the App Store, tap on the center Apps tab, and scroll down to "Top por categoría" (Top by Category) and tap on Apps para Apple Watch.
