I have the first generation watch (watchOS 4.3.2), and the iPhone SE.

If I update my phone to iOS 13, can I keep using my watch?
The notification function is enough for me to ask for a watch..:)

Who is the owner of the first generation watch and who has installed iOS 13 beta?

Can anyone running the beta please test if scribble is available in Swedish?

Until the cellular watch existed (and even now with the current gen non cellular watches) the watch relies on the phone for its internet connection.

Not entirely true. While many apps only reflect the info from the phone app, some don't. The watch will connect to a known WiFi without the phone and messaging apps will deliver messages even if the phone is not within range.

It seems VO2 Max gets recorded multiple times in watchOS 6. I ran for over 2 hours and the watch recorded vo2 Max 3 times.

Anyone else notice this?

Interesting. Has anybody noticed any improvements in the workout app. e.g New metrics, Improved Gps accurancy (higher sampling rate)?

That’s true, but it is still very limited. It would work while you are near a known WiFi network, perhaps while you’re at home or at work, but as soon as you leave the range of a known network the watch loses a lot of functionality.

On a side note, I’m a bit surprised to see that no one has mentioned the fact that you can now select a WiFi network from the watch itself. So with the new OS even if you are away from known networks and without your phone you can still join a new network.

This was in watchOS 5.x and isn’t new.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but what new features/watch faces won’t be supported on the Series 3 Watch please? Thank you.

I am in a peculiar situation and seems like Apple store visit will only solve the problem but wanted to check with the community first on this.

My watch is no longer paired with the iphone (not sure why) and it’s set with “unlock with iphone” so no passcode is coming on the watch to unlock it. The only option was to factory reset using the charger and watch buttons. I have done that trick 5 times and it goes through the motion but ends up returning on the home complication without resetting anything.

Anybody faced same problem on wOS 6 ?? Or any other clues someone can offer ...
Did you check the Apple watch was removed from iCloud settings on the iPhone?

Not great. Mine goes into a reboot loop when it’s charging.
mine does the same and the battery is draining quickly.

Edit: turns out it works fine with an official charger but not with the Nomad wireless charging dock (with Apple Watch adapter) I use. Worked fine on WatchOS 5.
mine reboots while charging on the apple watch stand official charger.

Not sure if already asked, any sign of Messages sync? It is a pain going through deleting old messages on the watch, after it has already been deleted on my iPhone or Mac.

You can do this now if you have messanging synced through the cloud.

Hey. I can’t get my series 4 cellular to connect to my AirPods Gen 2 via the new audiobooks app (directly on the watch)...just fails to connect. Anyone else? TIA

Does this give you a view of activities from all apps that write to Health, or just the default Workout app?

I’ve been using the Healthface app so I can see the time when someone asks me 5 mins after a race how well I did....but it’s not exactly a nice solution.

Any app that writes to Health. I used Workoutdoors on a walk and it showed on my watch later (although as a standard Outdoor walk). This solution should work well for you. I assume they will tweak it over the next few months.

Yup ... it’s on the start pairing welcome page on the watch app ... so no paired watch as per the phone but the watch expects a phone to connect ...

Hi guys,
in watchOS 6, does calendar app is still showing only existing month? If so, I really do not understand why Apple does not fix this issue?

Nice new features but still lacks sleep tracking. Maybe they will add it with the next Watch. The noise level warnings I don’t really understand the use for. If it’s loud your ears feel it. Can you tell people to calm down if your Watch is warning you about loud noises? It doesn’t work today at a daycare center or a loud work environment.

How much battery will the complication use if it checks noise level all the time? More than an always on display?
Agreed! where's sleep tracking?

Found these recent posts on reddit. They helped at least one person here,
“Reset the watch and unpair it using the crown and power button. When it’s ready to be paired click on the I for more info on the watch and make sure the country and time are set to the correct one to match your iphones. Then go and pair again via the app however when it’s complete do no touch the watch just click ok on the iPhone. Then go and download the WatchOS6 beta profile install and let the watch restart. It’ll work fine now. Hope this helps :)

And this similar post,
1. Reset you AW to factory settings (press and hold "digital crown" and tap "reset").
2. Change your region to USA, and language to English (if it not) on AW (click "i" button).
3. Change your Region to USA and language to English on iPhone.
4. Pair and synchronise your AW.
5. DO NOT CLICK "DIGITAL CROWN" when synchronise finished. Click "OK" button on iPhone, then download watchOS 6 beta profile again. Activate it.
6. Your AW will reboot.
7. Now you can click "Digital Crown" on the AW and BE HAPPY.

Can you now add the stock Alarm complication to The Infograph modular watch face with Watch OS 6 beta 1 ?

Thanks

Thanks but in both cases my watch doesn’t cross step 1... factory reset keeps bringing it back to the home complication without erasing

Guess its going to apple for service ... bummer

Do you ever get to the part where it says, “Erase all content and settings.”
If the watch can not do a factory reset, Apple service is the only easy choice I know of.
