PSA: if you own a Nike Blue Orbit / Gamma sport band, the new "Gradient" watch face in Pacific Green is a near-perfect match. I did the level three style so that the match would be perfect in at least three places on the screen. Lol

I find this image really disturbing actually, because it shows that sub-minute markings are propagating to more faces. Clearly someone at Apple thinks this is a fantastic idea, and they refuse to listen to the complaints that have been voiced about this style of markings. Please tell me it's possible to have that face with just minute markings and that your choices aren't limited to sub-minute markings or no markings at all.

Anyone else having issues with the watch not being able to update apps? Hue had a new app and it installs on the phone but in the watch app I notice it's been 'spinning' for a day now. I clicked it to uninstall it from the app...now it won't install at all :-(

edit...
I got it to install by going through the app store on the watch. Appears to not be working consistently when updating apps on the phone.

Sub-minute markings can be hidden by going full-screen (which also removes every single complication) ... I've pretty much given up on Apple being able to design a FANTASTIC watch face (one that checks every single box, so to speak). The sub-minute markings are absolutely ridiculous, but some boneheaded designer at Apple thinks they look cool, so we're stuck with them.

Does anyone use Gymaholic on the AW and can comment on how it is working on WOS6? I have a series 4.
Thanks

I used Gymaholic, on watchOS 6 beta 1, for my workout yesterday. Overall, it worked well. I noticed one minor glitch.

The workout duration timer (upper-left) doesn't update unless you swipe left or right, then swipe back to the main screen. After more than 20 minutes into my workout, I saw that the duration still showed "0". I swiped right to the 3-D model, and swiped back and it updated to show 24 minutes. Then after more time passed, it was stuck at 24 minutes until I swiped back-and-forth again.

As far as tracking exercises, reps, rest breaks, edits of reps/weights numbers ... that all worked perfectly.

The corresponding iPhone app, on iOS 13 beat 1, has two issues that I've found so far. First, there's a display issue if you have the in-app option for dark-mode turned on, where it has white-bars or sections that are difficult to work with. Second, when tapping to edit an exercise rep or weight, when the keyboard slides in, the screen jumps, or rapidly scrolls so that the area you're editing goes above the top of display, out-of-view, and you have to scroll it down carefully, without closing the keyboard, to make your entry.

I'm digging the new watch faces. FINALLY we can see seconds displayed with a digital face. Only took four years ...

Wow. First time I've seen this. Very cool.

I am in a peculiar situation and seems like Apple store visit will only solve the problem but wanted to check with the community first on this.

My watch is no longer paired with the iphone (not sure why) and it’s set with “unlock with iphone” so no passcode is coming on the watch to unlock it. The only option was to factory reset using the charger and watch buttons. I have done that trick 5 times and it goes through the motion but ends up returning on the home complication without resetting anything.

Anybody faced same problem on wOS 6 ?? Or any other clues someone can offer ...

Not sure why you'd need to go to the store. I'd recommend calling support for help.

Having an issue with my M-F Alarms on the watch after upgrading to WatchOS 6.

Two days this week my Wake Up alarm has not gone off... and two days it has worked.

I have my watch set to wake me at 5am. This morning it did not go off and I woke up at 6:35, late for work.

It was working flawlessly before. And my battery level was at 94%.

they refuse to listen to the complaints that have been voiced about this style of markings.

Wait what? I’ve been pretty active in the watch-face threads primarily because of the lack of options but have never heard about the sub-minute-hating-community

Apple watch is of course a cool device, but I don’t understand why they never made a shockproof version, for walking, rock climbing. The fact is that I really like the watch, but if I am going on a hike, then I take it off ...

Rather than take it off, why not use a screen cover?

Walkie-Talkie is SO much better in watchOS 6. I’d actually consider using it now.

Previously, when you’d open a walkie-talkie chat with someone, you would hold down the button to start talking, and then when you’re done, let go and wait for the app to try and connect to the other person’s watch. You would start a conversation without even knowing if the other user is available.

Now, when you tap on a chat, a “connecting” screen is shown until a connection to the other user is actually established. And their watch makes a beep before you’ve even started talking to let them know you’re connected. Once you’re actually connected, the push to talk button appears and you can talk knowing for sure that it will be received.

In general the UI is also much less annoying and weird too

Is anyone on an LTE Apple Watch running OS6 that uses data without a phone to stream music to AirPods. I do this every day at the gym and its my only concern about upgrading.

I’m already running 13 on iPhone and iPad.

Thanks

Well, I don’t have any AirPods... but I do have some Aukey B60 that I use with my LTE Apple Watch. And I don’t have any concerns with streaming music or podcast.

And I’m running iOS 13 on the iPhone and iPadOS on my iPP.

Excellent. Thanks for posting. And great point. The version of Bluetooth headphones was more specific than needed and you provided the answer to exactly what I was concerned about. Appreciate it.

How well is WatchOS 6 running for you guys? Is it pretty stable and safe to use as a daily driver? My iPhone is already on iOS 13 Beta 1. Should I update my watch as well? It's currently on WatchOS 5.2.1

This is not the only place where people voice their criticism. Just off the top of my head I know they’ve discussed it on Accidental Tech Podcast, and Marco Arment wrote a blog post about it here.

Has anyone noticed that active calories count in the Activity face is way off since updating to WatchOS 6. For example, in the Activity app, Move reads 100 but on the face, it reads 400.

I would say yes. No huge showstoppers for me thus far. Battery life is a little worse. but still gets me through a whole day. I love the new watch faces though.

Hi! I've got a strange problem. I downloaded the beta 2 on the phone, but as the watch (with it's draining battery) wasn't at 50%, I went ahead and updated the iPhone to beta 2 first. When that was done, there is now no sign of a beta 2 for the watch. I have restarted both iPhone and watch, and re-installed the watch's profile, but with no success... Does anyone have any suggestions on how to actually get beta 2 on the watch?

I saw beta 2 in the watch app a few moments ago but my iPhone can't connect to watch now ...
