I just got an Apple Watch as a holiday gift and since I've never owned one before I'm not sure how much of my watchOS 7 wishlist is just me not using it to the fullest or not.

I hate the way finding my family/friends works on the watch. Basically, make it so that by tapping the map within the Find app it opens my family's/friend's locations in the Maps app so I can zoom in, see general direction/location, distance, or even just walking directions so I can locate them better. I don't need driving directions when I'm less than a 5-10 minute walk from them.

Another thing is playing music/podcasts from the watch directly without connecting headphones via Bluetooth. It may not be the best set of speakers ever for audio, but there are times yanking my phone out is too troublesome (i.e. driving) and I just want to listen to something that isn't local radio.

More animated character watch faces. Like the Disney ones, but not limited to Mickey, Minnie, or the Toy Story crew. More Disney characters would be fine, but maybe not limited to Disney. (Disney owns Marvel characters so how about some superheroes?) Maybe even let people set small videos as faces? Not limited to LivePhotos or static photos? Like custom ringtones, but for watch faces.

I know none of this will get to the source, but maybe I'm not the only one or somebody here knows more about the watch than I do and I'm doing something wrong.

Smart complications. Ever since 2015 I've wanted this. Let me choose a complication slot where multiple complications can be configured with my preferred precedence.

If it's going to rain, show the rain %.
If I have a timer, show the time remaining
If I'm on cellular, show me my signal
If my battery is low, show me the battery level

Like of like Siri, but in one complication spot, so I can still use a watch face that looks good.

  • Custom watch faces or watch face store
  • Auto water eject (from the speakers)
  • Apple Music playable through Apple Watch speakers (great for showers)
  • Better SIRI

My number 1 feature for watchOS 7 - being able to reply to emails via a keyboard, either a built in Apple one or being able to use the excellent FlickType (or Shift) keyboard to do so.

My number one wish is better complications and cards on the Siri Watch face. I'd love to see the rich complications from the infographic faces available as both the complication in the top left corner and as cards.

Feels like this would surely be a simple thing right?

Message syncing like the rest of Apples devices is a big one I am hoping for

Yes sure the screen will wake if you PRESS a button. Otherwise, how would you get the watch out of a lock state if there was no reaction to button presses or crown rotation? But at least theater mode and water lock could help against accidental inputs and constantly waking screen while working out.
'

they could do a screen lock and a "long press" to bring you out of lock state.

Custom watch faces for sure, the ability to play music straight from the watch, the ability to customise nightstand mode, and just for the fun of it, a full web browser ;).
