Want the new features also had an issue where it would randomly shut off during my runs including one 10km where I was going to break my personal best time where I was letting it all out on the 9th km last fall. I almost ran it over my car that same day cuz of this🥲

I had similar issues with my S4 - was really annoying. Just randomly rebooted on runs once in a while

Now they're listing "compatible with the latest software" as a feature!

So will I be able to use the Apple Watch S3 LTE on watchOS8 when my iPhone is running iOS16?

This is purposeful.

The Series 3 is now merely there to make the other watches that much more attractive. Some people will still buy it… possibly group insurance plans that want to give it away as an incentive for customers to get healthy, or others as gifts. But most consumers will say “The SE is only $80 more!”

The SE on its own seems “expensive” until seen between the Series 7 & Series 3. It’s now the “right price” & a “great value”.

The flagship Series 7 is for early adopters, Apple’s teams to prove their new stuff is working, & cover some R&D costs. SE is profit.

The funniest thing is coming new iOS may not even support this watch with watch os8, then if someone buy it now then one to two years later it becomes rubbish once iOS is updated and then cannot connect to the watch at all.

How sad is it that Apple is selling hardware they no longer support with software?
Has to be unprecedented, surely? I can't think of any other product they've sold long enough to drop software support before removing it from their website.
