I found a solution.

Apple sent me a brand new SE gen 1. The old one was just returned in the same box.

Turn off automatic system updates on the Apple iPhone Watch App.

Keep the OS that came with the watch 9. something.

DON'T UPDATE!!!

Maybe 6 months from now I'll update.

Also, make sure you turn off App mirroring and de install any 3rd party apps that automatically install while setting up.

I got a brand new SE gen 1 out of the deal. Battery health is 100% and should last another 2 years like my last one did.

Solved for now.

Good to know. Sad you can’t really use the watch tho

Lots of people complaining about battery drain on new watchOS 10.3.

Glad I got a new gen 1 SE with watchOS 9.

I wont be updating.

WatchOS 10.x may be somewhat more power hungry than WatchOS 9.x, but battery life of WatchOS 10.3 is basically unchanged compared to other versions of WatchOS 10, on my Apple Watch 5.

This issue has not been resolved with the latest update. Mine and many others still drain completely after 3-4 hours. My battery life is at 100% so its not that. Apple needs to pay attention and actually fix this.

My problem came back.

Still using watch OS 9.x that came with my replacement watch.

I removed the solar watch face and the problem is fixed.

NOT UPDATING!!!

Just Started happening in the last couple of days on mine Watch 8 with OS 11 installed. Barely lunchtime and am already at 58% started the day at a solid 100. background refresh and activities off.
