This is what I use:

I picked up one of these SIGG bottles on clearance at a sporting goods store and thought "what the heck, ill give it a try". I like it because it:

1. Holds water
2. Never, ever leaks, even after years of daily use.

Most water bottle manufacturers seem to have #1 down pretty well, but I can not for the life of me figure out why so many struggle with #2.

The SIGG bottle is very easy to clean and does not have any aftertaste/residue which is a huge plus. They come in 1.0, 0.6, and 0.4 liter sizes and quite a few colors in the smaller sizes. One drawback to the SIGG bottle worth mentioning is that it is a metal bottle that isn't insulated, so don't rely on it keeping your drinks cool all day.

I got a couple of hydro flasks for Christmas and have to say, I love them. I fill one up with ice and water and it will still have ice in it several hours later. They don't sweat either. The only downside for me, is they get rather hot to the touch if left out in the sun, but the water is still ice cold inside.

I am going to throw in my vote for the Hydroflask as well. Someone gave me one as a gift a few years ago, and I use it daily. It keeps water cold no matter what the outside temp is, and I often have lemons or limes in mine for flavor, and the flavor never lingers once it gets rinsed out.

It is a little heavy if you're taking it on a long hike, but it's so worth it for the cold water and the indestructibility of the bottle. I've never had mine leak either.

These folks make some excellent accessories:
