My phone got wet and I put it in rice right away. I looked at the dock and it looks like that water indicator went off but from what I can tell the headphone one didn't go off (it didn't get wet). Does this matter or am I SOL. I've read that if one goes off your screwed but i've also read that if only one goes off your fine.

Yea only one needs to go off. They have them in multiple places on the device so that it can be detected anywhere it gets wet.

My plan is to visit the busiest store in los angeles the day before xmas and hope that they're too rushed to check it properly.

Doesn’t matter. They changed their policy and the internal sensors have to go off as well for it to be out of warranty.

I meant, search this site. The policy changed and it is documented, no matter what the FAQ says.

Only my dock connecter on my iPhone turned pink, but the headphone sensor did not. However, my phone would still work. In the end, they replaced it.

The lady was like "Errmm, from looking at your phone, you have water damage" and I kindly said "Ma'am, no. I guarantee you I would not lie to you about water damage on my phone :)D) but my phone has never been near water and you can check the top water sensor as well as the inside water sensors. "

She asked me how I knew about the internal sensors and I just told her that I like to keep up with tech.

See if that works for you. Again, only my home button was a bit messed up. I'm not sure if yours is completely dead or not.

    It's the winter.

The more believeable "con-the-apple-store-tech" story is...

I was in my warm house, about 75°F, and went directly outside multiple times throughout the day with my phone in the course of some housework. Seeing that its roughly 20°F outside, this caused condensation to form on the sensor and thus indicating a false liquid immersion positive.

    Google it... its been proven.

    Happy waiting-in-line-at-the-apple-store!
