People act as if Apple did the OP a favor by replacing the water damaged phone. Apple is such a "great company" and has "excellent customer relations"

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Don't other companies do the same through insurance and a minimal deductible?

Another area Apple falls short and fails where others excel

Take care of those iPhones because your at the mercy of the "Genius" if you damage it!

To the OP, Apple owed you a free replacement by not offering you insurance.

Apple when are you going to work with your providers to offer insurance?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Insurance will cost you about $7 a month, deductibles are generally $125. For a flat rate of $199 Apple will replace a phone that has been completely ruined, not that bad considering there's no profit in there for them. Apples policy covers any issues not related to the phone being accidentally damaged by the owner for a year. Other companies do that as well but the process for exchanging phones is not nearly as convenient. I can just make an appointment, walk in to an Apple store and walk out with a new phone all in a day. The insurance is somewhat pointless unless you were hoping it'e cover lost/stolen phones. Apple would never allow that since there would of course be abuse unless they decided to block the reportedly stolen phones.
