I have a Waterfield backpack, and it's served me very well over the years. It came with a free pouch made of the same material (a waxed canvas), but I don't use it as the wax can transfer to other items in the bag. I suspect the same may be true for this computer case.

This looks like the Mac-equivalent of ripped jeans that cost so much for looking like they're ready for the bin.

It has a tiny loop sewed onto it...how are you supposed to carry it? Put it in yet another bag?

If I were getting a travel case for my Mini M4, I'd want something that is built around being able to hold a Magic Keyboard in there (so something larger) -- I'd want my mouse, KB, Mini, some cables ... the whole package all in one

Then all you need Is a bag for the keyboard, another for the mouse - and the monitor. Suddenly visualizing the old bag for the 'portable' Macintosh.
Is it weird that a company that is all about form and that has created a series of iconic laptops, still doesn't make a Mini incorporating all its guts under a keyboard, with all the ports in the back as per current Mini?

It's weird to see people calling this overpriced and saying that for $5 you could wrap it in a towel. This is Apple World, where everyone pays a huge premium for products that emphasize looks and design.

As for my mini, I use it as a portable computer all the time. I'll happily pay 99$ for a good-looking and rugged case for a machine I paid over $4000 for.

I had a computer inside a keyboard once. It was a Commodore 64. I'm not sure that's where things are heading.

WaterField products have a high price point, but they are very high quality and made from the best materials. I have a shoulder bag I bought for my brand-new Titanium PowerBook that still looks the same as when I bought it.

I have the same backpack, and it looks incredible after nine years of neglect. I may need to re-apply the wax at some point, but that's all. It doubles as a travel bag - I can pack my electronics and everything I need for a weekend trip and avoid having to check a bag when traveling.

Far cheaper: a Six Million Dollar Man lunchbox with room left over for a thermos.

ALSO: It makes way more sense to transport an 8TB SSD macOS drive between desktops than the entire computer. That way you can boot into all the same apps and configuration while still transporting in your front pocket.

This is perfect for you if you're a 60+ year old bird watcher. Fugly as hell, apparently it's expensive, and most of all absolutely unnecessary. Not the first time I've seen macrumors promote something like this. I'm looking at you, airpods max case

just imagine, there's people who like that aesthetic. But only if they bought it looking brand new and wore it down themselves.
The new - old jeans fad from the 90s springs to mind. Women would buy these ridiculous, half-torn-to-shreds jeans, like they’d been worn by someone in a crazed coke-bear attack for treble the price of off the shelf Levis. Crazy times.

You think it was just women?
