Been testing this and it works well. Is there a way to make album art from Apple Music larger in Dashboard? If not, Apple needs to address that. Album art should be larger than the fast forward or reverse arrows.

My suggestion would be to provide feedback to Apple.

Giving feedback to Apple is your only hope of getting it changed. No one here can do anything about how it works... So, if @RogerWade disagrees with the suggestion to contact Apple, I'd love to hear his solution.

Sounds good. I still want to be able to do a hybrid of my car’s infotainment with CarPlay. I’d like the car’s SiriusXM and outside temperature to be available without clicking on home

Some cars do work that way - keeping half the screen for their own software. It’s up to the car manufacture.

That's a very distracting UI.

When Waze is activated I only want to see that.

Any other apps that play audio should only work in the background and via hardware buttons.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion... I prefer to have other options on the screen... The CarPlay Dashboard is a great addition, IMO.

Finally, a reason to buy a new car.

Or - do what I did and go after market. Lots of good stuff out there - Pioneer, JVC and Sony have great products with some even with wired and wireless CarPlay.

Good news for CarPlay - the social aspect of Waze is still the best. Google Maps have the advantage of being able to download an area of maps - similar to a gps system - for times when you may not have Cell service. Apple maps, though, have gotten better - much better than they used to be.

Honestly don't know why is it so hard for Apple Maps or Google Maps to provide speedometer and speed limit warnings like Waze does in Australia. Actually would otherwise much prefer them over Waze, which keeps taking me down weird routes that take forever with millions of roundabouts.

Wave may have an option to remove those things you want to avoid

My opinion is supported by a study because I do not want to harm or kill other people because of my selfish opinion.

Well, my opinion is everything can be distracting while driving a car. If people would just understand and tell themselves their primary duty while behind the wheel is to drive down the street, we would be much better off.

Anything relating to a radio (head unit) in a vehicle can be a distraction. Even physical buttons. What Apple did with the front interface isn't worse than anything else out there. Including speeding - if you read the link you provided. Which was quite sparse on facts by the way. The organization quoted I'm not familiar with, nor their processes and procedures for executing studies. Those I'd have to know before committing to their results.

Who cares. Let’s not make this about opinions and keep it about Waze integration to Dashboard. Start another thread to talk about your opinions please. :)

Your underwhelming "study" notwithstanding, the Dashboard view is no more distracting the most modern car dashboards. I use Siri to control most functions while driving... but it's still nice to see at a glance what is playing in the audio app... and the map window in the dashboard is plenty big enough to get a glimpse of where I am and what is coming up on the road.

And for the record, most people (including me) "do not want to harm or kill other people". Self-righteous much?

This will be welcomed. Apple Maps did get a lot better, but waze is still my go to (although really not going to anywhere in these times).

How on earth do you deal with Waze's clusterjunk of icons all over the screen? I've seen it on Android last year and I was honestly not just afraid my Uber driver would not get me to my destination on time, yet more for our safety. To me it looks like Windows 8 and Windows 10 'fisher price' start menu all cluttered across a map.

lol...

Oh CarPlay. How you love to "reroute" indefinitely when the iPhone goes into fake 4G mode. Wish the GPS ran through the BMW instead of cell towers.

lookup pictures for waze on CarPlay or test it.
