While the Jetsons and Flintstones are cool, if they put up some Wile E. Coyote & Road Runner I'd buy them right away!

That's what I thought at first, but after reading the story the merger involved CBS, or at least CBS interests.

If you're talking about the programming, then you're right, (the) CW is a combination of shows on the WB and UPN. ;)

Point taken. CBS owned UPN it seems.

Can anyone get Aquaman to transfer to their iPod?

And on the whole Smallville thing-- I really wish there wasn't so much filler crap. The alternative mythos are kind of cool but it seems that every two out of three episodes is basically fluff.

Always good to see someting new on the iTMS, but as usuall... what about the people the other side of the pond? There are still a lot of countries without the music store... please apple!

I understand that Warner Brothers produced Friends, but from a lay person's perspective the organization on iTunes is confusing. From the list of networks you would expect to click on NBC.

Now that they have a lot of shows they could presumably add a feature to browse by sitcom, drama, etc. Or even type of sitcom as Friends is in a different category than say Strangers with Candy. (I think of Friends as airplane sitcoms cos that's where i have seen them. Maybe a label like "comfortable sitcoms").

I like Smallville a lot. It's a guilty pleasure. I can't watch it with other people who insist on pointing out all the "cheese," which I choose to let myself enjoy! I have never seen a Superman movie, so I can't compare. But I like Smallville. I used to think to myself, if Superman is so powerful why isn't he off stopping rockets in the Middle East? Or back in the old days why didn't he help in World War II. But, for me Superman became a metaphor. To people in our life we are superheroes. And we don't always choose to help. We are human. And although Clark Kent is not biologically human, in my opinion he is human enough because he is environmentally a human, which is what humanity is about anyway. So it begs the question, what powers do we have? What powers do we have and what are we using them for? Obviously we live balanced lives. And Smallville shows that balance of responsibility and life. It's just easier to see Clark as a hero to others, but we all have the power to help.

OK, I'm a nerd, a philosophical nerd!

BTW, has anyone bought Kyle XY? I don't have cable so I discover some of these shows through iTunes. I got the first one free, and am embarrassed to admit have bought all three since then. I like it, but my fun was spoiled a bit the last time I watched it my parents came in to watch it with me. Questions were: is this a show for 14 year olds? Where'd you get it? iTunes. Oh you PAID for this? Lol..........ahhh sort of ruined it for me....dissed by the rents..I'll probably keep watching though....I really wish they'd put a season pass up to save me some money.

I've been feeling this way for a long time. There needs to be better navigation and search capabilities added to iTMS. Given the breadth of the content, if I want to search for a particular episode of, say, Battlestar Galactica, I really don't want to have a bunch of music popping up at the same time. Or, if I want to find an audio book, I don't want TV shows popping up.

You can actually alleviate this problem quite easily. After you search, below the navigation bar in iTunes you can filter your results by choosing between All, Music, Music Videos, TV Shows, Audiobooks, and Podcasts.

Okay, I used a bad example. (I had noticed those filters before, though I had forgotten them. Thanks for the reminder.) In essence, I find trying to search for anything on iTMS a painful experience. It needs to have a better search and browse mechanism. There are too many different types of meta data to try to have a single search field adequately work.

Off topic a tad, but have you ever wondered what could have happened if the WB had released Friends on their own network? Would the stars in it still have agreed, since the WB was so "minor league" back then? Would anyone have given it a real chance, especially considering many cities still didn't have a WB affiliate back when Friends debuted?

Other than that thought, I do agree the average iTMS user is going to look for their shows by network, not production company. I guess it's so new that any company jumping into iTMS wants to be sure we know exactly who is putting it up there. The WB isn't going to fork over rights to Friends if NBC gets all the credit.

I agree that it seems they will slow the plot down by having tangential shows that are more about solving a crime than the characters. If you look back to the first season almost all the content was about that with the plot arc moving even more slowly. I am not sure if I am using the word plot arc accurately, I mean to say the larger plot that holds it together--the bigger stories Clarke's development into Superman, his relationships, versus the smaller parts but more frequent parts (ie someone somehow infected with krypton is wreaking havoc and must be stopped).

I haven't seen the last part of season 5, but i loved the first part. I wonder in part if it was so good because there had been so much build up. If it were always so dramatic it might lose its effect (ie Desperate Housewives always so over the top that it loses all shock value).

Bunch more Time Warner content added today.

Cartoon Network/Adult Swim
CNN

Too bad so far it's only Johnny Bravo, but more CN shows are bound to follow.

can't really get too excited about new additions to the itunes store until it supports us users in hong kong...though presumably apple is consistently working on getting support for other countries. it may be quicker to just make a trip to the states and open up a bank account!
