WD 500GB My Book "Studio Edition" External HD $99.00

Deal seems to be over...

Hope all that wanted one, grabbed one. Seems like CompUSA is now sold out at the $99.00 price. I've been using an older WD drive for over a year now and no problems to report. Looking forward to getting this one installed! Still cant get over that price.

I ordered mine early in the morning and they sent me a canceled message 2 hours later. Seems like most everyone is getting canceled.🙁
 
This is why i wish MR has a section for just these type of announcements, nothing with
"What do I buy USB or Firewire HD?" type of post. Instead people will post
Product name, site, website and price (maybe date of special).
 
maybe they're honoring at least some of the purchases. I have yet to get a cancellation, and I ordered it last night.

they may have been sold out when you ordered. i have not gotten a cacellation message yet. hopefully it stays that way
 
damn this would've been a killer deal, I paid $129 for my Mybook Pro 500GB from Best Buy a few months ago, and a second one would've been a great addition. 🙁

I guess some will get it. I ordered very early this morning, and got the email about 2 hours ago.
I don't really need it, but the price was too good.
 
I got suckered into something like this with MacMall. After they shipped out 1/2 the orders on ram incorrectly priced, they cancelled many others. After I called a few times one guy finally told me I was a stupid bitch for thinking MacMall would honor the price. He quickly found out that I can be a bitch but stupid is not part of who I am. 😉
I hope the people who ordered do get theirs at the $99 price.

I ordered this last night. No "shipped" email yet.

I, too, will be bummed if they decide to pick me to cancel on.

You seem optimistic that we'll actually get it.

I got a confirmation from amazon but still nothing from compusa.

i guess the product was supposed to be the 320GB Elements External USB2.0 drive. according to slickdeals.net

would it be worth canceling than possiblly getting this shipped?
 
FedEx just delivered the Elements drive, damnit! Oh well, worth a shot.
Trying to decide now if I should return it or just keep it for a off-site backup drive.
