Am I reading this correctly? They sent you a new Sim card and it cost you $12? Verizon is sending me a new Sim card and it cost me a zip.

yup. I went to a t-mobile store last night to get the new 5G sim and they charged me $10 plus tax. My mistake was ordering the unlocked sim less phone from apple instead of the Tmobile one.

You are better off. You can change carriers any time, unless you are under contract.

Wait, for a SIM free phone - why do you need a physical SIM ?
Doesn't it use eSIM ?

Does iPhone upgrade program iPhones comes with the sim if you order it with T-Mobile.

I forgot if I got a new sim with my iPhone upgrade plan iPhone under T-Mobile.

The last upgrade I did with iUP (8+ -> XS Max) it came with a new SIM, so I’m assuming that it should.
If it doesn’t, I’ll just either go eSIM or see if the T-Mobile store will give me a free R15 SIM.

FYI, MaxTech says that the new modems will be capable of faster 4G speeds over last year. I’m hoping to see a 4G improvement since 5G is limited for now.

I thought they did too. But I wasn’t sure if it came with a new sim or not tbh. But good to know.
