I wear a watch with a leather band. :)

Pretty much my situation too, as I also wear a leather band on my watch, and no, I don't find it a problem when typing. Sometimes, I take it off when working, but not usually.

As for UltraNEO's comments, I like to tell the time by checking my watch; I like to playt music on my iPod and my to make and take calls on my mobile. Call me literal if you wish.....

Cheers

yes i wear a metal watch still, even though it is a cheap £10 digital face one.

I dont wear it for 'bling' after all it cost £10.

I wear it because it is still much easier to flick your wrist and look than having to get out your phone from your pocket and press a unlock/standby/on whatever button and then look for the time.

especially if you are in education where phones are not 'supposed' to be on in lessons.

Also I feel if you are in a meeting of some kind its acceptable to glance at a watch and see the time , rather than getting out some posh gadget that makes it look as if you are not interested and could be loading up some 59p game from app store or sending an email.

thats why I still wear a watch, and dont call me old fashioned, because I am probably younger than you.

No offence intended :p

/Rant :D

The MBP is such a beautiful machine made of aluminium, that I'd feel bad if I happened to scratch up the palm rests with my watch.

When I was trying out a machine in the store yesterday, I noticed I had to pay special attention to weather or not my watch (with a metal band) would scratch the palm rests.

Do any of you who wear watches with metal bands have issues with scratches/damage?

And no, I won't stop wearing a watch or switch to a band made of silk to accommodate the MBP.

I wear Doxa dive watches with the heavy steel band, and i definitely take it off before typing on the macbook!

Watch off - not only does it scratch the MBP but it's not comfortable to have a metal clasp (or buckle) digging into my wrist.

Do you have a sink and a toilet in your house? Why?

Yep.. I have a lovely washlet plus heated seat installed on the toilet plus an Urinal! Why? I don't have a clue, they are just there!! :p The toilet paper is just there for show! It's not really required considering the washlet also air dries your bottom at the press of a button!! :D Then once you've gone, it'll put the seat cover down and flush and clean the bowl of toilet!! And it does it all without physical human interaction... ain't that great?

A typical controller....

I actually stopped wearing my watch when on my MBP not because of scratches, rather it was irritating to me while typing. I used it on both my MBA and MBP and never had any problems with scratching although I guess it depends on your typing position.

I so want one! And I don't wear a watch at all.

I usually take mine off when using the laptop for a long time. I do not think that my wrists really touch it while typing, but they do a lot when I use the trackpad. It think the top of my MBA is plastic, it does not really scratch, I just do not like the noise...
