those aren’t “ads” lol. they are relevant weather news articles, and are actually quite helpful especially pertaining to when there are severe weather alerts.

i’ve found them quite useful for my city and it’s kinda cool that apple thought to do that.
 
I’ve seen this a couple times. In the Chicago area it’s always been weather related. I’ve seen news from local TV stations, never Apple News.

Apple busy trying to flog one of their less-successful apps (which ironically relies on 3rd Party providers to give it any value at all) within an app that is more successful. Albeit one that seems to have had its own issues of late.
 
We use Apple News, subscription, all day but I’ve never seen a news or ad segment in Weather.
 
I just noticed the News app inside the Weather app. I really don't care that it may be weather related because the reason I use the Weather app is for the weather.

This is just another sideways effort to monetize my use of MY phone and its related info.

After some searching (which led me to this thread) I learned that I cannot remove the LA Times 'News' from my weather.

Can anyone recommend a weather widget that gives me only the weather?
