Has anyone else noticed that it's been down over the past few hours again? I was just wondering if it's just me.

Mine has been down for about 24 hours now, Apple chose a bad site to get there weather from, not to mention that my nearest weather destination is about 70 miles away

Ok I withdraw my above comment, after just testing I put in my town and it appeared so it seems that thousands of new destinations have been added and it works now :D

weird.. today i opened dashboard like i usually do.. and my weather widget crashed.. didn't know they could crash... o well.. i sent the bug report to apple.. anybody else's weather widget been crashing lately?

What do you mean by crash? Every now and then, I'll refresh a widget and it'll disappear but holding OPTION down as my curser is over where it used to appear brings up the close box as usual and I just close it and drag another to the desktop/Dashboard.

I can see Arlington, Va, but I can't see Caracas, Venezuela. I guess it's just a probelm with AccuWeather

Yes, the Weather widget can crash if it fails to receive data from AccuWeather.

Hasn't worked (i.e.) updated for a couple of days now, and when I tried a refresh it just went blank... :(

Have you re-selected the city? Re type it into the widget because they seemed to have added a massive amount of new cities over the past few days and old settings are still showing up like they should be there but are otherwise not working.

I noticed this morning that mine were a few days stale so I re-launched the widgets ( + r) and nothing came up.

I flipped the widget over and entered the city.

Apparently they are using a new system for identifying the cites.

For example it used to be.

New Glasgow, Nova Scotia

Now it's

New Glasgow, Canada (NS)

So if you're widgets seem to be not working, enter your city again.

Mine works again, too, after quite a bit of hassle...

But it didn't help to reenter city, nor refresh the widget (tried both 100 times ;)). But when I quit it dragged on an new instance and reentered the city it finally worked, again... :)

...I probably killed my first instance totally by trying to fix it, again and again... :D

Slightly off topic but does anyone know what the weather widget is doing when the Degree sign in the top right flashes a few times, what does it indicate?

It's going online to check the forecast for you.

It's much better since they've updated the cities. My mother can now get her hometown rather than the one 20 miles away :)

Yeah and I think they update a lot faster too!

Now when I open dashboard it takes about a second for the widget to refresh.

Though last night it was sunny and night-time in my town.

I jus tried it today and it worked (Caracas, Venezuela). I just closed the widget, opened it again, entered the city, and done. But I think something was messed up with the AccuWeather server or something... w/e... it works now :D

mine was down for a few days last week or so also..
been working well lately tho
oh. my location is vancouver, british columbia

I've totally given up with it so wiped it off the Board.

I had to kill my existing 'London' widget before I could get it working again.

What I'm happy about is that I now don't have to have generic London weather. It's got lots of London areas in it - mine included - so that the weather now seems more accurate!

My weather forecasting now entirely relies on the bucket of seaweed I keep outside my front door

;)
I put my faith in corns and twinges...
:p
