Yes, why wouldn't I be?

Because, if I understand the OP correctly, those problems started happening a few days ago, and he/she had no problems with those websites before. I doubt he all of a sudden needs a plugin for these websites, and I also doubt that lack of those components offered by flip4mac would cause the kind of error he's describing.
Nevermind though, at this point I guess everything's worth a shot!

@OP: Try using firefox to access the websites, and see if the problem persists. The website works fine on my firefox browser.

Somebody explain to me why lack of flip4mac would cause hotmail to magically not work from one day to the next, since OP is describing having trouble with hotmail too.

The OP has no problems displaying MacRumors but on sites containing videos/flash doesn't get all the site e.g. left hand side where the video is, and a posting of a new video with an updated codec or badly coded site could interfere with a plug-in.

I'm just trying to help the OP....not to start a fight.

hmm i am not sure on this. Both websites the OP has mentioned use Java Script. i am thinking it is a problem with Java.

I see where you're coming from, though I just don't see though how that would cause the screen to behave like it does. I've often lacked necessary plug-ins and never got that kind of behavior. It'd be good if it was that though, means he'd only be lacking a few plug-ins.

The OP has updated Java and still has the problem -- unless OS 10.3 doesn't support the latest version of Java and the old version won't display properly?
EDIT: OS 10.3 uses Java 1.4.2_12 & OS 10.5 uses Java 1.4.2_18

I'm pretty sure that the mplayer2 is for mpg2 playback, a part of quicktime... Did you recently delete Quicktime to free up hard drive space by any chance?
