Logitech Quickcam Vision MP for Mac

Today i purchased the Logitech Quickcam Vision MP for Mac from the APPLE STORE.

I am not too pleased because this product came with a $129 price tag and it does not work correctly.

My System:
Mac Pro 2.66 Quad with 16Gb Ram
OSX 10.5.2 Leopard

Camera works with ok quality.
When i chose to use the microphone - The camera flickers with a flick that could send you into a seizure. I will probably take it back tommorrow unless i can find a fix for the flicker... Anyone got a fix??
 
hey guys, sorry if i haven't been on for awhile you guys have been very helpful. i bought the philips SPC900NC webcam on the 4th but had to cancel because after two weeks they never shipped then i bought it from amazon and it should be here around the 24th. bad luck i guess!

but thanks for all the help you have giving to me!

$29.95 with a $90 rebate. Works natively both audio & video (iChat Yahoo) with OSX. I have one & love it.
 
I just got the logitech quickcam pro 9000.

It's the ONLY webcam that has worked properly for me I even tried the pro 5000 and no luck.
 
hey guys, i wanted to let you know i received the philips spc900nc webcam on the 19th it was shipped the 17th they said it wouldn't be here until the 24th so i'm very happy. its a great camera. i'm using macam as my driver which works pretty well.

i would like to thank all of you for your help!

AGENT V3 in Flash Player (browser)?

Hi,

Does any one using the V3 webcam know if it works in Flash player, I mean the browser plugin, in OSX?

Ok,

I bought 3 or 4 different cams for my Mac Pro Quad Core 2.66. None worked as advertised or as sold to me by the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. They Were Totally Useless... So i aquired one of the old iSights Apple use to sell for their Power Macs and it works Flawlessly... It has Auto Focus and the picture is incredible. The built in mic is awsome too... Goto ebay and look for the iSight. Its a sure cure for webcam headaches.... Albeit it may cost a pretty penny..

Logitech QuickCam Vision MP for Mac

Yep, that is what the Apple Genius Bar recommends. Well that is the only one they sell at my local Apple Store.

While it at first seemed to require less light than my iSight, the video quality was pretty bad until I got a lot of light on (me) the subject.

I'm also getting a bit of a lag time with movement (this is sending the video picture to my own screen) while using iChat. In QuickTime the picture and frame rate seem better.

I have yet to do a direct comparison between the iSight and the QuickCam Vision, but if my memory serves me right the iSight gave me a better picture.

Why am I using the Quickcam over the iSight? Because my kid won't give the iSight back ;)

I looked at those pics that you took. they look great. I wish I could do something like that. :(
