Have you tried the new TenFourFox specific version of foxPEP? Heard good things about it, unless you already have a custom config it's definitely worth a try at least.

Hi, I have FoxPEP already configured and installed. Luckily, the Titanium has L3 cache which helps it move along.. its not super quick, but pages do come up quick compared to the G4 DLSD i once had and that had a 7447A/B chip with no L3 cache.
