I've updated the site. www.iphonesuggestions.com
how does the normal person post stuff on that site?
I've updated the site. www.iphonesuggestions.com
You do? Again, where?Currently, I just have an e-mail address to send ideas too.
this may sound like a crazy idea. but why not get in contact with the people in charge of the ifund, because they will be looking for ideas to seed to up-and-coming developers
Did you read the ideas on that site? The minimum investment that the iFund will put forth as per their FAQ is $100k, are any of those ideas likely to give a return on such an investment? I'm thinking not...
"do you think Johns sister is hot"
The problem, of course, with this is there is no guarantee of "instant gratification", since the SDK limits applications to foreground only, your friends would be able to "vote" if and only if they actually launched the app (presuming they knew that a new poll was available).

Most of the suggestions on the page are garabge.
It's like the medical software that was demoed, but with all usefulness removed.
You like dogs? How about an app that shows you pictures of dogs?
You like flags? How about an app that shows you pictures of flags?
You like [anything]? How about an app that shows you pictures of [anything]?
Poor app store![]()
Unless your app worked by sending an email to them that had a link to launch the app, but that would get very annoying very fast I think
That made me laugh. Good job.
To the OP, I applaud your effort to get people thinking of new ideas, but I couldn't find one app on your list that I would ever purchase, or even download for free for that matter.

Clearly, this person has attempted to make a joke.
A bad joke, yes, but the fact remains: he/she attempted sarcasm and humor and failed. Miserably.
Except that an app built with the SDK cannot manipulate other applications directly except via registered URL handlers-- which, in this case, would cause the email application to come up and present the user with a "send an email" screen.
Now, if one were to use SMTP directly, perhaps opening a socket onto an external mail server or something this could be mitigated, but then you've got the whole security on the external server to deal with (don't want to make it easy to spam through).
hmmm... hadn't considered using email before as a notification mechanism. One might be better suited to using SMS instead (instant popup and all that) as long as the user could choose their poison so-to-speak (due to potential cost of SMS messages).
Although I suspect this particular app might be best suited to a web interface, the notification idea is intriguing, must consider it...
