Here is my gray Wedge-E.

I find it amusing that this simple little pillow elicits such joy among those who purchase it. (And I'm among that group.) Of all the various iPad accessories, I think the Wedge-E is probably the most beloved.

Here is my gray Wedge-E.

Based on the photo posted above, is it safe to assume that this would work with an ipad that is in most folio style cases? I have a Moshi Concerti on order for use while commuting and wondered if it would be too thick when the cover is folded back to fit in the "lip" part of the wedge-e.

Should work fine. The "lip" is quite wide.

It works fine with my leather maroo case which is kind of thick.

Thanks (to both of you). Looks like it could be a useful little thing. I think I might give it a try.

I've been looking at the Levenger Thai Pad but haven't been able to pull the trigger. This looks like it might actually be better for reading on the couch. I'm a little concerned that my Canvas cover might make it too thick for the little stand, though.

Hard to say without knowing how thick your cover is, but I have a SmartCover and a rather thick leather covered back protector on my iPad. With the SmartCover folded over the back of the iPad, there is still a significant amount of room in the lip/groove so it could take a thicker cover than I have on mine.

I will say that the Wedge-E operation is a small business headed by the fellow who invented it. I've corresponded with him several times and I'm sure he'd be happy to advise you about the suitability of the Wedge-E. And while I obviously can't speak for him, I suspect he'd be prepared to accept a return if you weren't satisfied.

Thanks for the input, jsh. I'll definitely email the Wedge-e folks and ask about it. This could be a good solution for me-- currently I'm just using couch pillows to prop up my iPad, and it does slip-n-slide a bit.

I actually bought a thai pad first. It is actually fairly decent but I didn't like the pad (forward wrist support) getting in the way and the lip that it uses does impose on the screen ever so slightly. With the Wedge I can pull it closer to my chest when in bed and when on the couch closer to my stomach. Don't get me wrong its not bad it's just not as good. Hope that helps alittle.

Thanks, that's helpful to know. I was wondering about that front pad (on the Thai Pad), and whether it would be too much.

Thought I'd update this as I'm about to buy another. I use mine daily for years, and I just went to Amazon to find them. They don't sell them there, only from their own site. I did a search on Amazon for ipad pillow and got a list of the most God awful things I've ever seen.

Point is: since I just about never use any tablet without this pillow, I figured Ill need a backup, so I d post my experience.

Just a heads up

I know this thread is a relic, but I am looking for an equivalent for my iPad 9th gen. I still have my original Wedge-E (probably for the iPad 2!) but after all these years it's seen better days.

Unfortunately most of the current-day "multi angle" ones are too big or too sharp of an angle for sitting on the sofa. The Wedge-E was perfect, if anyone has any modern recommendations that would be great.

Ah - an old thread - that explains why I can't find this mythical product that I was really trying to procure.
