Phew.. added shambo to the ignore list. Much better.
Regarding the updates, no one knows, these threads are useless... I assume they'll get updated specs soon, though, since most (if not all) other manufacturers have announced laptops with Core i5 options already.

Can't you just ignore it?

But why would he do that, which is the most obvious and easiest resolution to his ire, when he, as Spandexman duly noted, clearly thrives on intimidation and bullying. However this is my last comment on the matter because I too don't want this to turn into yet another thread bashing my opinion.

Thank you to Spandexman for his comment.

I'll fourth that shambo should be banned.
And no, this isn't a personal insult.
He is a personal insult to everyone he replies to.
We should have some kind of poll.
Anyway, back on topic...
There won't be a massive design refresh. Just a spec update to Core i5 and i7's and more powerful GPU's (hopefully)

EDIT:
Shambo, you however thrive on stupidity. Your "OPEN LETTER" (CAPS LOCK, INCASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW, IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL) is stupid. Your computer, while still usable, is obsolete when the next MacBook Pro update comes out. Also, the OP wasn't directing this at you, so your post claiming "I'm not interested. Bla bla bla etc." was relatively rude. If you don't care whether there's going to be an update, don't threadjack with your pointless drivel. We don't want to hear it and you know for a fact it'll spark a massive debate. I suggest you get a new user and forget about your cretinous idea of future proofing and investment, and in particular, the name "BadBoy Pro".

I'll fifth that. I hope they do come out with updates as I am looking to get the 17" as it future proofs my investment by being 2" bigger than the weedy badboy pro

I think they will announce updates for the MBP at the event even though the main attraction is the tablet. If there wasn't any event scheduled I could see it as a silent update, but I don't think they'd let the opportunity go to waste to present some more of their products.

I agree, I think they'll use the media not only to announce the tablet (iPad) but also to release a new line of MBPs and hopefully MBAs!

Shambo you made my day every single time I read a comment by you. The underlined part of the last sentence may be bad english but I hope your Brain is "Future Proof" enough to put it into correct context.

You simply rule! Your such a great laugh on this board one should collect all your posts and share it with other tech related boards.

"Future Proof" - If you could imagine what crazy things are yet in development... "Future Proof" is 80s ;)

Sorry for this spam but I wanted to thank this guy for saving the day.
