iPod touch Week 39

I've been hearing so many bad stories about them and the boxes tell if there good or not just a bunch of stuff I'm sort of nervous.

Ones that haven't shipped yet have a chance of being week 39. So the ones that show up in the stores at the end of this week after drop ship direct from Apple will possibly be week 39.
The majority of week 38s are fine. All of the iPod Touch units that I have tested have a small amount of background hiss with high efficiency headphones, so I guess it's possible that Apple could fix this in a later week, although this could possibly be firmware fixable.
All in all week 38 is fine, if this is the device you want, now is probably a safe time to order. If you're really paranoid then hold off for another week or three and get a week 40 or whatever, they should definitely have things pretty much cranking along by then.

Hey, i ordered mine on the Friday of week 37...and apparently the Touch arrives on october the 2-4...which model do i get is it the week 37, 38, 39, or 40?? Thanks

the week thing is when the ipod touch was made
week 36 and 37 are defective and yea
and the thing is on the serial number
but does anyone kno wut model will it be if I ordered it on the 14th of sept which was the friday of week 37?

lol, but thank you for reassuring my 400 dollar investment. I keep getting the 'eye-rolls' and '16 gig is not worth it' when i talk about it at work and with friends

well my touch finally changed to"Prepared for shippment"!!!!! so if i get it (at the end of the week haha) i will post pics.

I don't think it matters -- the week 38s are mostly (probably 99%+) perfect. After spending a long time with a week 37, I am 100% satisfied with my week 38. Video is perfect, no hiss and everything works as advertised.

It might not be 99% but certainly the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive on the week 38 units.

I highly doubt you got a week 39, you probably got a week 38. Week 39 units would be shipping NOW and would be arriving in stores/homes in the next few days.
