Actually I read that due to childbirth, women are better at coping with pain and sickness.

Whereas men don't. Therefore it's a real thing!

Same here... fat, hairy, balding, Fugly.... and beautiful daughters (to me). My best achievement and to quote my friend "each more important to me than my next breath."

Kudos to all! It was fun and interesting to see how everyone interpreted the theme and there were some wonderful entries here. Akash.nu, your entry was indeed mysterious, one which kept me looking at it again and again, wondering what that couple was talking about, what they were thinking......a real winner!

Molly, I hope your husband is feeling back to normal very soon! Summertime is a bad time to be ill! Yes, it’s going to be Father’s Day here in the US on Sunday as well as in the UK......

Well sometimes I do! I find photos of props hardwork. My wife loves setting up her cards with different backgrounds and accessories.

I don't have the patience for it.
 
Many years ago when I was taking a photography class, we had an assignment which was simply, “Light.” There were many intriguing and different interpretations of this, but there were also a few snickers when one member of the class put up his print — a photo of a lightbulb!

ROTFL!!!!! Gee, I wish I remembered what he said...... He probably commented on the fact that the image was well-exposed, was sharp and so on, technically proficient, the B&W print itself was fine, too (good contrast, etc. — this was back in the days when we printed our images in the darkroom) and didn’t offer any commentary on the interpretation.

I did a photography taster day when I was about 18. So I have taken and developed one photo in my life.
 
Those of us who have experienced the darkroom days can tell you, it is simply....magical! Watching one’s image coming to life in the developing tray is unforgettable, and so, for that matter, is seeing one’s strip of film coming to life, too...... There was always something mystical and magical about the darkroom, though, standing there, gently rocking a tray back-and-forth, taking in the distinctive chemical aromas, feeling enveloped in and encompassed by the dim lighting.....and finally being able to wash the print and emerge into the daylight again. It was messy and smelly and one got stains on one’s clothes, but it was still an experience like no other..... I love the mess-free, odor-free, stain-free, speediness of being able to pop a memory card into the reader and click a key and have my images suddenly arrive in my computer, ready for tweaking, and that is magical in its own way, but, well.....I still do from time to time miss the mystical experience of those darkroom days.......

OK, and yes, it was darned frustrating when one would go through the entire process from developing the film to putting a frame under the enlarger lens and carefully, patiently exposing it on the photo paper and working on it to hopefully get the desired results.....and to then spend the additional time nursing what looked like a blank sheet of paper once away from the enlarger as it went through the required sequence and series of baths in various trays......only to realize at some point during the process that something had gone awry and the whole thing would have to be done all over again!

I'm not going to CC all the entries because of time and also because I love them all and I can tell they are all very personal to each poster. This was a challenge from the heart and not a technical one, so I'm not going to ruin anyone's photo! So I wil just get to the placement, but know that this was hard, and if I have time this weekend I will try to come back and say what I think makes each photo so special.

There are no legends here. It's just that some of us have been around longer. (Read:. "We're older").
