So sorry about that. yeah, I didn't logged off and my desktop is just in sleep mode.

Yes but some body must click on the macrumors forums to register it on the site that you've been there (which yours did). It says in your user profile the last time you visited the site.

I happened to check your profile page (several times) to see if you'd been on site and on the judging day and your computer visited about 5 times, once a few minutes after I PM'd you.

The screenshot below shows the last time you were on site.

There seems 4 choices here

1. Somebody used your computer and visited Macrumors forums (and got my PMs)
2. Your computer woke itself up and entered the site (maybe it read my PM's)
3. Someone has stolen your user name and password and used it to log on (someone else reading your PM's )
4. You didn't want to judge

I'd be worried about choices 1-3 if thats the case.

If you didn't want to judge - thats fine.

wow!thats weird! we are three in a flat, but my room was all locked when I was away overseas(and everytime when going to work).

Although I just recently joined the weekly contest, I did surely read the rules and guidelines of the contest and was AWARE regarding the judging, though was not hoping to be a winner as my intention is to share, learn, contribute and experience in this weekly photography contest. I am not a pro photographer nor an experienced one, im just a normal DSLR owner, but I believed that I can do my very best in choosing the best image/s.It's an honor and a great privilege to judge a contest, and I was excited to do that. But there was acsudden turn of events that I need to do my work and duty. Now if you have doubted that I just sneaked in and just let do-the-others-do the judging thingy, then all up you.

So sorry to keep you wait.

Again, my apologies.

Sorry if my post sounded sarcastic but the fact that your account logged on 5 times that day was very weird. I think if I was you I would be looking at security.

You are obviously honorable- but you appear to have a problem - which may be flat mates or iMac. However I can assure you that your account logged on 4/5 times on judging day.

I like your photos by the way - don't be too modest:)

Do keep entering the contest

No need to assure me more,I am convinced with the "evidence" you have attached thats why I was quite amazed and ask for my apologies. I am just an ordinary forum member who usually logs in and off, but sadly, I accidentally forgot to log off during that period of the judging day. If this is really quite an issue to you then I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

PS
I assure you also that I have no problem whatsoever..100%, and that goes also with my flat mates.

wow. just wow. is the guy on trial??

No - it may have come across like that but it wasn't my real intention (I also PM'd him to say sorry)

but some how whilst he was away his account logged on to macrumors forums about 5 times (on judging day). If your Mac is asleep can it keep logging in to the forums by itself - or does some one have to physically click on things to get it to register in your user profile that you revisited the forums?

If someone happened to mention that I had visited the site a several times when I knew I hadn't I'd be nervous someone else was using my Mac (which is logged on permanently) or knew my password.

I am just over curious.

If I'm logged out of my account I can still read the forums but not access my User Account. I don't believe I would see my PM notifications and I'm unsure if my activity would show to a logged-in account. Maybe this is what happened. At any rate it's a no harm no foul situation. This wasn't the first time someone messed up on the judging half of the contest and it won't be the last.

Peace.

Yes. We have had folks drop a photo in the contest and never return at all after winning. It puts those of us who check the contest daily in an odd place. We have to wait and then pass the responsibility for judging on to either someone who didn't enter or one who would sacrifice his entry to do the judging. It breaks up the rhythm of the contest. You had a legitimate reason for missing your duties as a winner. Stop taking all this personally.

I think zildjansg taking it personally is my fault. I queried his not judging the contest based on the fact that his account logged his entry to the forums five times on judging day.

zildjansg was not at home but his sleeping iMac logged on and kept registering his presence in his user profile over the course of the day.

I've apologized for prejudging zildjansg but felt with the evidence of constant entries to the forums was enough reason to ask - where were you and what happened?

I have checked this - by leaving my computer asleep - it only updates my user profile if I awake my computer, then my account (by clicking on this forum) which updates the time I logged on (otherwise it notes the previous time I entered the site).

In fact further investigation shows my WiFi connection drops when my Mac is asleep, making it difficult for it log on to Macrumors forums and hence register on my user profile.

Honestly, I'm not taking it personally, I'm just stating my side and apologies to all.

I rest my case.

Again, my apologies.

I guess we've both apologized - done and dusted.

I doubt we will ever know what happened. I tried to recreated the experience of a sleeping Mac updating a user profile on the forums and was unsuccessful.

I guess it will remain one of life's little mysteries.

I wish you well
