    Rules:

    1. You may only submit one photo per contest.

    2. The contest runs for exactly one week, from the first time stamp of the first post in the thread (this will be made by the winner of the previous week's contest).

    3. Please refrain from commenting on the photos submitted in the contest. A good photograph is one that can appeal to someone who may not know much about the technical aspects of photography, so it would be best if the judge isn't swayed by someone else's opinion of the photograph.

    4. The judge will choose his/her favorite at the end of the week, place a post listing it, and include a short synopsis of why he/she chose that photo. The winner is then responsible for choosing a new topic and starting a new contest thread, which will again run for exactly one week.

    This week's theme:

    Aged

I look forward to everyones input!

Ok boys and girls the competition is now closed! Unfortunately I am going to need 24 hours before I can announce the winner due to work commitments!

I like the colours and repeating shapes, but overall I'm not to keen on the composition, I'd really like to see more of the textures, or maybe even a lower stance point?

I like the shot and the composition, can't help but wonder what it would look like in colour?

I wish the train was by itself (I know it was out of your control!) Perhaps a tighter crop would help? Would love to see that thing going down the tracks.

Love this shot and the processing!

I really like this, I feel it has a story behind it, you can almost feel the atmosphere and conversation. How long ago was this taken?

I'm sorry this image does nothing for me as far as composition or lighting goes. Perhaps a closer shot focusing on the glass texture?

Love this as well, I would really love to see the textures exaggerated!

Again unfortunately the composition does nothing for me, perhaps a lower and closer stance at the golden hour might produce better colours and a more even exposure?

I like this, is this a regular haunt? I feel like the sign has seen many many people!

I like the equipment, again I kind of wish the image was closer on the larger piece of equipment so it filled the frame.

Love the composition, tones and textures! Good Job!

I've been here! Think this picture would have benefited from some fill flash, the shadows are lost a little to much for me. Are you based in Wales?

Love this shot! Just everything about it.

I'd love to see just the roots in this, not to keen on the processing.

I like this shot, but I think it could benefit from a tighter crop?

Love the repeating patterns, the composition everything! Where was this taken?

I'm sorry my feedback is short, I haven't had as much time as I would have liked! I hope its constructive!

I really struggles between three images but:
    3rd Place: emorydunn
    2nd Place: acearchie
    1st Place:Jennx143

    Congratulations to all who entered!

Thanks for the feedback. But what about deepdiver's photo of just the hands of an elderly couple holding each other? I found that one very poignant. Congrats to all.

Thank you. There are, by my count, 3 images for which there was no feedback. Oh well.

Nicely done. Looking forward to the next contest.
