Ahh...I learn the lesson again: be careful what you ask for, you might get it! Alas, now I have to step up to the plate as judge--a difficult task, made more difficult by the high standards recent judges have upheld. Thanks to panoz7 for a very thoughtful round of judging and for a super contest topic. Absolutely brilliant topic; I wish I had thought of it! I really enjoyed seeing the photos posted for it. The topic I'm about to post may not be as creative, but I hope people have fun with it nonetheless.

Great judging panoz7 and entries eveyone.
What this contest forced me to do is learn Aperture 3 PP better, there is lots of power in the brushes.

panoz7, thx for the "Redo" contest, a new classic, I'd be game to a "Redo-round 2" in the winter.

Congrats Phrasikleia!! Great shot and a perfect example of how to make the most of a redo.

Nicely judged panoz7! Thanks for the comments and great topic.

pukifloyd: I just love these kind of shots. This one's really nicely done -- I'd love to see it bigger. I like how the black and white really exaggerates all the lines on the building roofs. The gradients you've added on the left and right and the tall building dead center add a really nice symmetry. Where was this taken?

Thanks panoz7. This was taken from the Empire State building in New York during my school trip. Glad you liked it:)

Congratulations Phrasikleia, thatisme, and Luminosity. Awesome entries this week too :)

Thanks! For all the time I've spent in NYC I've never actually been up the Empire State building. I'm planning a trip up in october and I guess I'll have to suck it up and do something touristy. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for the judging Panoz7!

I really liked the multiple picture aspect of this week's contest!

Great job judging and thanks for all the comments for everyone. I noticed mine was rotated a little left a few days ago as well. Nice choice on the topic. I'm glad to see we got a lot of participation.

you're welcome :)

ps- try not to go to the empire state building before/during a storm (or rain)...they'll close down the deck and you won't be able to take any pictures...I was in the last group(and the only one from my school) that went on the deck before they closed it due to lightning  ...couldn't take many photos during those 5 minutes...
