This is on the Mexican side of the border fence in my hometown of Tijuana. The text reads “There are also dreams on this side”.

Okay, the contest is closed. I will be back with the judgement tomorrow.

For personal reasons, I unfortunately can't really find the time for detailed criticisms at the moment, so I just limit it to the top 3:

Third place: @mackmgg I love the vastness of the landscape and the space the picture conveys. It looks very serene. I guess the light half-way up the mountain is a climber in the dark?

Second place: @oblomow Very atmospheric black and white image contrasting the antique with the new. Where is that, though?

First place: @akash.nu I remember bustling alleys like these from the time I was in London (literally decades ago by now...). The picture gives a nice impression of the atmosphere of these places.

@StrollerEd: I can hear that picture...

Thanks judging and the safe place on the podium!

It's Nijmegen, east Netherlands.

Not that safe when you’re second though.

Is there a lot more to see except that beautiful architecture?! I’m hoping to be able to travel this year again. Fingers crossed

Are you planning to skip your duty?! :(

Remember England is still close by and my appearance and memory are elephant-like.

I’m very tempted after your comment.

Although I’ll not let the devil to get the better of me. I’ll return with the next challenge soon but it has to be after my work today. It seems chockablock until 8 in the evening for me.

well done England, a nation of shop keepers and street hawkers ;)

I’ll be honest, I’m cheating on England with Scotland. I’m in permanent love with Scotland since ages and have been travelling up north every year at least once since the last 15 years or so. Don’t tell England please

Looking forward to visiting London sometime

I'm glad you never lived in Montréal or i would have won?
the photo is very good, but looks like another city. like NYC, Chicago, Tokyo etc.
im not complain about the wining photo, just the explanation of that winning.

that is it, nothing further i just want to brining this up
perhaps the next week the judge can makes notes during the week so they don't feel burdened at the end?

I neither have time nor the inclination to deal with your hurt feelings. I don't have to justify myself to you.

this was not about you or my feelings, just the future judge and the integrity of this thread.

This thread and its participants have a great deal of integrity. @Janichsan is a skilled photographer, a fair judge, and is committed to the integrity of this subforum. Sometimes real life interferes with some of the things we might like to do. That happens to all of us. The people that participate here are supportive of one another and respect that such things happen. We are not not critical on account of them.
