More Christmas holiday season fun. I'm honestly a miserable grinch when it comes to Christmas preferring to douse it with mojitos where possible, but I do like lots of shiny lights. So for me it's the season of lighting, soft shots, deep contrast, warmth and bokeh. Show me your best lights. Doesn't have to be Christmas related specifically but possible bonus points there.

Good morning. Coffee ingested. Eyes functional. At a screen I can actually see properly now. However hangover still causing some difficulties so please excuse the brevity of feedback.

@goldmac2006 - bang on the mark on the theme. Love the point lights. Would have preferred a little more context around it though.

@C0ncreteBl0nde - what can I say? I love everything about it!

@_timo_redux_ - love the composition and shot. Nice to see some movement in images as well.

@arkitect - Amazing shot. Like the motion in it and the contrasts.

@someoldguy - Spot on theme. Lots of details to investigate as you look around the image. Slightly off centre though.

@Janichsan - love this. Good subject and eyes drawn right to it with lots of interesting context.

So after much deliberating and scoring on a spreadsheet, the results are:

1st: @C0ncreteBl0nde

2nd: joint @arkitect / @Janichsan

3rd: @_timo_redux_

Thanks everyone - great submissions. I enjoyed looking at these a lot.

@cjsuk Thank you very much for the kind comment. I do love the OM-5's built-in ND that allows me to do some motion blur on the hoof — and that I manage to get it out handheld — believe me… at my age the shakiness ain't getting any better! 😆

Phew… only podium. Congratulations to @C0ncreteBl0nde for the deserved win!
Haha! We dodged a bullet! 😁

But seriously, congrats to @C0ncreteBl0nde a lovely shot deserving of 1st place. I agree that you definitely nailed the brief. 👏
Also, @_timo_redux_ When I see your NYC shots I keep reminding myself to get back there. Soonish…

Yes that is a rather cool feature that. And not bad at all for handheld!

Not shaky here other than caffeine related by the eyes are going so perhaps I just can't see my shakiness 🤣

Wow! I seriously didn't expect this! Thank you very much for first place!
I am waking up late this morning, but I have an empty day/evening ahead of me so I will use the time to try to come up with a new theme for 2026!

Happy New Year, everyone, and thanks again for the first place award!

Thanks for the thoughtful comments! These Christmas lights in Naples this year are part of the Hawaiian theme for their boat and house light parade.

This was the best picture of the ones I took this year. Also, happy New Year to everyone who celebrates it in Asia and Australia! Europe is up next to ring in 2026.

Assume Naples not in Italy 🤔
