Weekly Photo Contest | February 18th, 2026 - February 25th, 2026 | Nice an Warm

As I was reading @arkitect post about his decision I thought about how bitterly can be a winter's weather.
Well, I live in Brazil, and down here we are in the middle of a nice and warm summer. So I tough about giving you a bit of a warm touch. Let's give those folks some images that could resemble them to something warm, cozy and nice. Use your imagination.
This week's subject will be: Nice and Warm ♥️



As always, the standard rules apply:

• The photographs must be your own work. No AI generated images.
• You may only submit one photo per contest.
• No commenting or liking photos until after the judging has taken place.
• This contest runs for about a week, starting now.
• At the end of the competition, the judge (last week's winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
• The 1st place winner will start a new thread here with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
• Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
• Contest will end February 25th

@OldMacs4Me yours is a great image! Wow, I'm wondering the amount of heat generated there. It must be pleasing to know the outside temperature while the fireplace is crackling up! Great contribution!

@oblomow you sent a great picture! Did you shot it for this contest? It shows how cozy and healthy is the heat. I'm wondering if it is warming its eggs just to look your image. The white feather adds detail to the history being told. I loved your image. Thank you for your submission!

@thirsty_monk wow! what a great snapshot of a greater, unfolding scene! It makes me hear the kiddo laughing and the wellness in that day. It has definitively warmed my heart. Thank you for sharing this singular thread of love in a more complex scene.

First time I saw this picture I actually thought it was snow on the beach, until I saw that it was brightly colored sand 😅

Thanks! The flower is actually a daylily named 'Hot as a Firecracker', so even the name fits the theme of warm. I know the person who hybridized it as well.

Thanks for the kind words! I had such a blast at La Jolla Shores in San Diego during a work trip last winter. It was a fantastic way to unwind during my internship.

And get this—seagulls were everywhere on my team, trying to steal our deli sandwiches! 😂 one of our bosses chased them away

It’s just the exposure that did it and the sun facing behind me. Shot on iPhone 15 Pro.

One of the funniest moments during that internship trip. I plan on continuing to apply for more NASA internships because they treat their interns well.
