Welcome to this week's photo contest thread. Last week's photos were really enjoyable (even though I'm not a big fan of winter weather).

This week's theme is Minimalism. I have enjoyed a few photos in the last couple of weeks that have been minimalist in nature on our contests. I'd like to see what we could do with it as a theme. If you are unsure just google it and lots of ideas will come up.

Rules:
You may only submit one photo per contest.

Please do not comment or use voting button on photos until after the judging has taken place.

The contest runs for exactly one week, starting NOW! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread)

At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible. (Judge has 24 hours to make decision).

The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme).

To see all of our past contests please see the sticky thread.

Color Sticks by drtruett, on Flickr

This is the product of carving pumpkins back in October. I happened to notice the vortex of multi-color toothpicks, and thought it really popped against the white tablecloth. Always happy to hear your thoughts!

Housefly wing by simbojono, on Flickr

This is a housefly wing on a microscope slide, enlarged with a darkroom enlarger and then reversed the negative to a positive. The marks in a square around the outside of the image is the glue that holds the square piece of glass on top of the wing.

Took this a few years ago. I asked my friend to hold my 18-55mm lens and took this with a 50mm. :) I flipped it upside down.
