Have you seen and document any interesting clouds formations? Don't be shy and post it, this is a contest for YOU! 😉

• The photographs must be your own work. No AI generated images.
• You may only submit one photo per contest.
• No commenting or liking photos until after the judging has taken place.
• This contest runs for about a week, starting now.
• At the end of the competition, the judge (last week's winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
• The 1st place winner will start a new thread here with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
• Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.

Contest will end July 29th 2026 at 23:59:59 Central European Summer Time.

@krezimax1975 - great image of this optical phenomenom (apparently it is produce by light interacting with ice crystals in the atmosphere), together with contrasty trees it gives image surreal feeling, I like it

@mtbdudex - an alien ship has gone through the clouds it seems, a very interesting formation

@yey365 - great clouds, great colors, intresting foreground and also backround, great image, love it

@lookn4wifi - simple, but effective, backlit clouds and the flock of birds, feeling of an ending summer for me

@kendallm - well, one word springs to mind, awesome! great clouds and the light is incredible

@Snowlover - I like the sheer amount of country it covers, with great cloud formation. Will it develop into the storm to revive dry countryside?

@Kottu - another great image, the composition is very nice, I like the curvy road leading eyes to the setting sun and interesting clouds

@goldmac2006 - the main hero is probably the rainbow, but the clouds are great too, I like different shades and structure

@Jonk1183 - another image with wide field of view, the plane in the middle and all the different elements, clouds in background, colours, all make it a great photo

@_timo_redux_ - love the contrast of country/buildings and the colours, not sure if it's filter or real world, but it evokes a spooky feeling, nice!

Mine was actually a “punch hole cloud”, or more formally “Fallstreak hole” yes it’s got a real name.
