Congrats acearchie - great iamge.

cupcakes2000 - those "random splodges" are actually fireflies! They've been quite active past 7-9 days. On purpose I also left in the plane streaks.
Lot's happening outside while most mortals are sleeping :)

Ah ok! My bad! Don't really get fireflies in my part of the world!

These sky photos have been such a joy to view. So many very talented photographers - thanks for sharing your work and inspiring me!

Congrats acearchie. And cupcakes2000 thanks for the comments. I am an amateur photographer so any advice is appreciated. I will never make a living at it but still enjoy a good photo.

Nice shots, I was going to contribute to this, but my camera was out-of-action.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!

Shock horror that an iPhone shot beat out all the others! Feel very proud against all the great competition.

I will have a think about a competition today as I am on the road and will post it this evening!

Thanks again!

Well that's one for the photo snobs who don't think you can get a good shot unless its dSLR.

Cool shot - loved it.

Thanks cupcakes2000 - great judging - glad it wasn't me having to do it.

Mine was shot on a mountain were I used to live - there was a small gap from another mountain and when the sun set - a little light would creep through the gap and produce some very weird effects.

Great shot acearchie!! A definite winner no matter what the equipment. Thanks for the detailed comments cupcakes2000 and for the top three consideration!

Great collection of photos, congrats to all! acearchie I really like your shot a lot, had it and CK Williams as my picks. Some of my very favorites in my own collection have come from my cell phone ... good photography is 90% "what you see" :)

Thanks cupcakes2000 for the feedback and judging.

I know this theme week is over, but I always like to be late to a party anyways.

EDIT: Sorry for posting more than one pic. Still learning the rules. Guess it doesn't matter all that much since this theme is over, but I'll still try to keep it within the rules for next time. ;)

JDDavis: Although I like it, and it’s shape, and the refections on it, I actually have no idea what it is, or what it’s about. I don’t know why it’s there or where it’s going or where it’s come from...

LOL! I actually achieved the effect I was going for! It's a statue/art peice in front of the American History Museum in D.C. It's actually on a granite pedestal and it rotates. I cloned the pedestal out in PS just to make it more interesting (to me). I liked the reflections and blue sky.

Great judging BTW. Thanks for all the inputs.

Great capture Ace! Look and feel are perfect.
