Today is May 1st, also known to some as "May Day." May Day means different things to different people but when I was growing up my mother helped me make small "vases" out of construction paper with a pipe cleaner handle, then we would go around her large garden and pick the early Spring blooms and I would go about the neighborhood and put them on people's door handles.
This brought me to this week's theme: "Flowers and Flora." It has been said that Anyone can take a good flower photo because the subject itself is so beautiful and this is partly true, but I'm not looking for an Instagram filtered snapshot, I want to see what you can do with this lovely subject and your skills as a photographer. Different angles; the use of light...whatever you can come up with to make your photo stand out.
