Congrats to pistonsfan1600 and everyone who participated!
Well done judging fitshaced.

@fitshaced, I reckon you should download and install the AutoTIMG plugin (see my sig), hit "Edit Post" and AutoTIMG all those links to become thumbnail images. ;) :)

Cheers, I've installed it and edited the post but no luck. No worries.

Congrats piston fan, the top three and all who participated, fitshaced, nice job and appreciate the comments. It was a unique and different challenge. Well done.

It was a 6mm focal length I was using a point and shoot when I took it. The lends was probly only 1-2 centimeters away from the antenna of the butterfly.

Congrats pistonsfan1600 great shot. What a great quality week. I really can't believe I came second such was the depth of quality.

fitshaced Good job

The toy car was belonged to my son - bought for him to match the real thing that we owned. He wanted a photo of them together - that was one of the shots. I got some strange looks in the street that day:):)

I'd like to know how close you managed to get. As this wasnt in a zoo, its most likely much closer than I'd be willing to go.

I was on foot with Masai tribes people..they said the lion was far too elderly to be a threat and very sick, it probably only had a day tops to live..you can't see it but this lion was also wearing a radio collar. I used a 200 mm lens if I recall

Congrats Pistonfan1600! All the entries were wonderful. I look forward to the next challenge. Fitshaced to answer your question I used a 70-300 that allows me to go to macro mode between 200 and 300.

Thank You!

Thanks fitshaced, for the critique and great contest, and to all the other entrants for their wonderful images.

I haven't entered many of these contests - I'm still relatively new to photography - so having competitions like these are invaluable to my growth in this hobby.

With that being said, I'll post the new contest shortly. I'm excited to see what everyone brings to the table this time.

I love this composition. Fits the frame very well. Makes you want to pick it off the tree. Nice bokeh as well. Is this another iphone shot?

Great shot chappers. How did this come about? Did you have the toy car with you as you walked down the street only to spot its big brother?

So.....

Third place: Coryndiego

Second place: Chappers

First place: pistonsfan1600

No, it was with my Canon 60D with the 70-200 f/2.8L on it. I was visiting a hydroponics grower's and liked how the lemon stood out behind the reflective insulation behind it. I did consider changing my entry to one of the skeletons from the museum, but decided I'd just stick with the my first one.

Congrats to the winners! I remember seeing Chappers' shot before, and it is quite a fun shot. And, when I saw the sunset photo I figured it was going to be one of the top 3.
