Bah, Don't have to worry about Canada... now Australia and NZ on the other hand... :D

My cousin's house seems to attract white tails so big that you can hear them scuttle. Its really quite unnerving. I still can't identify any poisonous Australian spiders, so I just kill the buggers whenever Im in Sydney unless I know what species they are.

No spiders worth worrying about...

I have had people who wanted to move to Victoria (just across the water from Vancouver) ask me about bear and cougar in the capital city! They're probably a tad more dangerous than any spider we have here, but it's unlikely you'll run into either unless you do wilderness hiking.

I would never mock your fear of spiders though - I have an irrational fear of earthquakes - and live in an earthquake zone!!

You have no idea how scary a huntsman is when you're in your car, and you see one climbing up the side window......right near your face. :( *shakes head*

Actually, it happened to me one night, and it was so dark, I couldn't tell whether the spider was climbing up the window inside my car, or outside. And it was moving pretty fast, and I remember swerving into the curb. I was riding along a highway in Sydney.

P.S. I'm a huge "poontang" when it comes to spiders.

I thought for sure this thread was going to be about buying milk in bags.

Interesting.... Stanley Cup starts with no Canadian teams involved, and suddenly a 3 month old thread on spiders is resurrected. We (Canadians) must be starting to work through our backlog of messages left in the in-box.

Go Canucks....
