Doesn't seem to bad to me, then again i've only been using it 1-2 hours and for installing stuff.. Once i start using Photoshop / iMovie i may have a diff opinion.

Ouch PhxBlue - I've got a horrible feeling that's a glimpse of my future in the next 5-10 years.

LOL its all good though. The kids' toys kinda double as mine too. Its cool being a guy, we can revert back to childhood with ease.

With the title of this thread, I thought something bad had happened - like you accidentally got some girl pregnant. :D

So I'm happy that you got a new iMac. Welcome to the club!

I vote for the RocketFish wireless mouse. Looks closeish to the MM but it is functional.

Welcome!

And I'll chime in on the mighty mouse. It may be the worst thing Apple has ever produced.

unless you don't take care of your things - you won't have a problem with the mighty mouse IMO.... mines been going strong since '06, my girlfriend's has been going strong since mid '07 and my wireless has been great since last month

The Mighty Mouse does have "issues", as do we all.

But I put up with the wheel problems, and in fact almost relish the cursing and swearing while I try to clear the "obstruction".

:p

Mighty Mouse gets 3.5 stars on Amazon which is decent. This is a mouse people either love or hate.

i'd probably have to agree with that. i just can't justify buying a mouse without the 'squeeze' built in. i'm so used to that.

although logitech makes some great mouses... the MM just matches too well

Congrats! and nice purchases. Yeah, the snobby thing will just creep over you like a virus. It's part of the conversion process and only gets stronger with time. Most of us can control it, but it will come out at odd times. Like when your friends are pulling their hair out worrying about some big virus scare or your coworker is telling you how his weekend was ruined because he spent all day Saturday and Sunday on the net trying to find the right drivers to make his new electronic device work with his computer. During these moments you'll get a little smirk on your face and you'll feel pity for them. :(

Also congrats on the upcoming arrival. Truly having simple media software like iMovie and iPhoto will make keeping up with all of those special memories very easy. Once you get the hang of it don't be afraid to step up to Final Cut Express or Aperture if you want something more powerful.

We're glad to have you in the fold. ;)

hehe cheers mscriv - yeah iMovie and iPhoto are gonna be used quite a bit once the baby comes.. It's nice knowing i can make a movie without any fuss at all.

Mate of mine has given me his copy of Final Cut to play with for a couple of months before i decide whether to buy it or not, as its quite expensive. So i'm gonna try that out next weekend i think.

I had a play with iMovie to make a couple of movie trailers from current trailer footage, stripped out the audio and layed over my preferred music. Was just my way of learning.. Tell me what u think :)

Also i've bought a Rocketfish wireless mouse just incase.. Thanks for the suggestions

And for people who want the same sleeve for their iMac - It's just a cheapo one off ebay, if you search 'Macbook case' it'll come up.

I agree about the track ball -my parents have one with their iMac, and it's been almost a year and a half and they've haven't had any trouble at all with it. I just don't like the feel of it, the way it tracks and the lack of options I get with the Revolution. It is a love or hate item, whither it chances to work or not.

Looks great. By the way, I have stacks and stacks of paper surrounding my iMac, can I send some to you???
