Thanks munkie, I never knew this would go way off topic so quick! Also I am going to try a few diff settings in the programs that you and everyone else suggested. Some dvds copied without a hitch and played back wonderfully. I think the problem is when the dvd is about 7.5 gig and it has to be compressed onto one 4.7 dvd. Thanks Again.............

Don't forget about the movie only function - leaving out the extras should help out a lot with the compression quality.
