Hello all!

I see a lot of people complaining that their new MacBook Pro has this or that issue - a loose key or too high temperatures or whatever the problem might be.

I just wanted to try to level out the ratio of posts about bad MacBook Pros and posts about good MacBook Pros by saying that mine works absolutely fine. No issues whatsoever.

My computer is a custom configured high end 15" MacBook Pro with the following changes:
- 500 GB 7200 RPM hard drive
- High-resolution antiglare display
- iWork preinstalled

This is actually my first Mac, so I am very satisfied. :) I am getting amazing battery life, too.
The antiglare screen looks great - I actually prefer the aluminum bezel to the standard black. If any of you would like to see some pictures of this computer, I'd be happy to take some and post them (I know I was skeptical of the silver bezel when choosing this screen!).

- Have a great day!

And i will have to second this motion by saying that my 13" i5 works wonderfully!!!

Just an addition: I received my MacBook Pro Tuesday evening, so I haven't been using it that long. I might still encounter problems... But I doubt it! It really runs flawlessly. :)

Mine as well! Got my MBP (specs in sig. ) some days ago, and it works perfectly. Not a single issue, runs basically ice cold (surprisingly, my 2010 didn't! Never overheated, but it did sometimes get a little warm) no matter what I do with it, I can't complain about anything at all.

Mine too! Got the base 15" just yesterday and it is flawless. Also runs very cool! I really couldn't believe it, virtually no heat. Battery life is also amazing.
My first mac as well and I can tell I'm gonna love it. :D

I ordered this same version yesterday - can't wait!

Hm the product works technically. 15inch HR display, but has a chip in the alu. Top left corner. I cant stand those flaws. So asked a replacement. I can use it till the new one arrives. So not that mad.

ice cold???

ice cold???

Compared to my 2010, indeed. Which is not what I expected. Ice cold was a bit of a exaggeration :p but, it doesn't get warm enough I can feel it through my shorts/jeans at all. Barely warm to the touch. My 2010 never got "hot" or even near it, but it got warmer than this... Guess I'll have to work it harder :p

Well I am happy for you. I still have screen problems with mine. Apple tells me a firmware update is coming out soon that should fix it. I hope it comes out soon. this rebooting to fix my screen is getting annoying. I wish I lived near an apple store and didn't need a CTO because I could then just swap it out. Lets hope for a fix soon.

That's good to know, especially since I just purchased mine online. It's hard sometimes reading bad things about it, but you'll hear it about any computer, so I feel it's nothing to be too concerned about. :D

I got mine this morning and haven't stopped using it since. Its very cool and quiet compared to my old laptop (HP 8510w).

Very pleased so far. :D

- Mine runs very cool as well. :) The fan just started for the first time since I received it two days ago - and that was because I was playing three 1080p movies at once. :p

Can you post some pictures mate?

- Sure can. Give me half an hour or something like that.

- Precisely. You need to remember that people with perfect MacBooks don't usually come here to post about their computer. It is primarily people with problems who come here. So you are going to see an enormous misrepresentation in the ratio of good vs. bad computers on these boards. :)

How are you liking the matte display. Does it look as nice sharpness, color and contrast wise as the glossy displays?

If you stare at it, you'll notice a difference in the dark. The glossy one has slightly better colors, but when it's day time they look pretty much the same and underneath a light or under sunlight the matte wins because you can actually see the screen.

- I find the matte display very good! I don't have a Glossy 2011 MacBook Pro to compare, but perhaps I'll walk into a store with my computer and do a comparison sometime. I am coming from a 3-4 year old DELL Precision with a glossy (though not glass) CCFL display, so it is a huge step up with this MacBook Pro.

I really enjoy being able to see the screen properly. On my glossy DELL I often had a hard time focusing on the content - I kept seeing all sorts of reflections. It was quite annoying, but now I'm happy. :)

Also, as I have said, I find the silver bezel better looking than the standard black. A nice detail is that the bezel is not just grey plastic - it is aluminum like the rest of the computer. And fingerprints cannot be seen as easily on metal as they can on glass (the bezel of the standard glass display gets very dirty with fingerprints).

This display is highly recommended!

Now for some pictures, as per Cully411's request:

I couldn't get attachments to work... I apologize for the delay.

I'm loving my new 15" i7 2.3 ghz MBP with the high resolution matte screen too. Absolutely no quality problems and it is fast and has an amazing battery life. All around happy camper and I will eventually turn my 2007 MBP into a server with Lion server if it isn't too hard to do so.

I've got a 2010 Antiglare, and my 2011 is a Glossy. You'll read that the Antiglare has inferior color and sharpness, etc. compared to Glossy, but it's not true. I prefer Glossy myself, but the Antiglare is just as beautiful. It's really a personal opinion type of thing :)

yeah it's surprisingly cool.

It did get hot when I use handbrake to encode a DVD (really fast btw). But it cools down really fast once it's done.

My 3rd Macbook Pro (previous 15" preunibody, 15" HR AG 2010) should be here any day now, and hopefully I can continue this flawless streak :D

Can I also add that my 13" i7 works absolutely fine. :) No issues whatsoever.

I do hope I've not just jinxed it. :p

well I have to say me new MBP isn't working fine... IT'S WORKING GREAT :p I was playing L4D on full settings with stuff running in the background and go no less than 25fps, but usually holding 40fps, even getting as high as 70fps

Just to bump this up, my 13" i5 is flawless. Great system and easily the nicesp laptop I've owned. And I've had some *very* nice ones from Lenovo, Alienware and Dell. Love this thing. :)
