I had a bunch of ebay cables and they worked perfectly fine with my iPhone 5 whereas the iPhone 5S it works intermediately.
It is all because some woman got electrocuted by her aftermarket cable and then apple decided to put that, since she tried suing but lost. People are so annoying, was it really that necessary because it was apple she tried to sue.

youre gonna have to link me with it.... and do they have a 10 foot version?
My generic eBay cable still works after upgrading the iOS 7... I just get the warning message
I got a kit off ebay that came with 2 black flat lightning cables, a wall charge nub, and a car charge nub.
I just noticed that the ebay wall charge nub and ebay cable will not charge my iphone 5 ios7 anymore. However, if i take the ebay cable and plug it into an official apple wall charge nub, it gives the same warning message, but charges.
None of my knockoff lightning cables charge my iphone 5S. However it charges my iphone 5 running ios 7. Why oh why Apple?
i use an amazon basics 10 foot USB extension cable (like $6) and my OEM charger with no issues.
here it is...

it is weird I have one and it works fine. there is some weird stuff going on with cords i think.
Mine still work. I get the popup on the phone but everything still works.
With the reports of the woman who got electrocuted in China, Apple has every right to protect it's company interests from lawsuits by making sure people aren't using cheap unauthorized alternatives.
