Is anyone still having issues with the new drive manager?

I have tried everything and still it doesn't allow light management or powering off by pressing the button.

WD support have insisted it works but it doesn't for me even with a clean install of leopard

It doesn't work for me either. Currently waiting for a response on my support mail to WD. I own a MyBook Pro 750GB. FW800 works fine. Leopard 10.5.2.

Sometimes I still have to unplug both DC and FW800 to get it working again. I thought that new firmware was supposed to fix it.
I will try desoldering the diode that is connected to the firewire power pins. I have no idea what the use is because the drive doesn't work solely on firewire power anyways (or perhaps iMac doesn't provide enough power?).
I also did not leave the DC adapter continuously powered but switched it off while my iMac was in hibernate mode. Perhaps that leaving this powered also helps with the power-up problem.

The software isn't working with my MyBook Pro 500GB either.

So I am back to using the patched version.

Button manager issues

I have just bought the my book home edition and installed the Button Manager software, but I can't find where the software is installed. Can anyone tell me where it would be? I'd like to try and get things working properly!

I'm using an iMac with OS 10.5.2

I upgraded the firmware of my Pro 250GB edition and installed the WD Drive manager software on my iMac 10.5.2, but although there is a process 'WDDriveManagerStatusMenu' I get no Menu bar icon, even after un-re-installing it, restarting and even shutting down/restarting :(

Same exact problem here. I am running on a first gen MacBook with 10.5.2. I see two processes for western digital but no icon and no application installed as far as I can see. Anyone have ideas?

10.5.3 / drive manager 2.19

I installed WD Drive Manager 2.19 under 10.5.3

when i press the button on my 500 GB WD Pro (connected with Firewire 400) nothing happens.

when i press the button for 5 seconds the drive turns off, i get a system warning to unmount the drive before turning it off.

I am sad to say that I have tried installing both the official WD drive manager from the site as well as the hack that was given in the first few pages. I can see the process running in the Activity Monitor, but see no way in using it...should I go through with an uninstallation? :(

2.19 doesn't work in Leopard. Good going Western Digital. I'm using 2.06 which DOES work. The WD icons is there when the drive is on, and gone when the drive is off. Soft powering off/on is working in 2.06.

manager?

I got the 1 TB book over the LaCie 750 GB at similar price last week. When I formatted the disc using disc Utility, I deleted all the bundled apps. I've never used bundled soft and in my experience there is no real need to. The on/off switch has a safety delay, to help prevent unwanted power offs and data loss.
BTW, this is a slow disc to power up, I have to wait up to 15 seconds, quite a delay compared to my other discs.
BTW 2, this disc is giving me trouble, I took the power out last night because it still felt like it was spinning, sure enough it was hot even though I had powered down by switch. Today I can't get it to start up. Give me a normal FW plz, Its going back to the store for the LaCie, sod the extra gigs :(

Can somebody upload the WD Drive Manager for Mac, version 2.06 or 2.19, because the actual 2.23 doesn't show in the menu bar.

Thx in advance!

Thanks but the file belongs to the 2.23 =(

It seems there isn't going to be a solution. Shame on WD.

I am going to sell my My Book Pro and never buy a WD drive again.
