What about Thermal paste?

Should I worry about thermal paste or not and why? And do you think that the apple protection plan (extended warranty) is a good idea or it's just a waste of money?

I'm asking this because I'm buying a new MacBook Pro 2.0 (early 2011) and I'm not sure if I'll have any problems with it when the warranty ends.

If you really want to learn about thermal paste and heat issues and everything else pc related, check out the forums at overclock.net. Granted, it is mainly desktops, but there is a wealth of information there that is extremely useful. Lots of discussions about ram, ssd, etc.
