Why?
No, unlike the iPhone, it's not a thing of beauty....BUT it's so incredibly useful:
Using bluetooth, it connects up to 2 different cell phones to both its base unit and to each of its separate handsets (you can get up to 5).
This provides the equivalent of up to SIX extensions for each cell phone - especially useful if your residence is spread out and/or... on more than one level.
And each handset contains a speakerphone, as well.
You no longer have to race round your house trying to find/ grab a ringing phone (even assuming you've actually heard it ring, in the first place).
Once paired to your cell - each handset (and base unit) will ring - plus you can set 2 different ring tones if using 2 cells. And you can make/receive cell calls from all of them.
Finally - this device also functions as a good old fashioned land line (if you still have one
