In use before MBPR:
- USB2 4 port powered hub
- 1TB USB2 portable HDD
- 32GB USB3 flash drive and various sd/microsd cards
- External ODD

With MBPR:
GigE adapter

After MBPR:
laptop cooler w/ 160mm fan
FiiO E17
D-Link USB3 4 port powered hub
AirPort Extreme (need GigE ports, my previous router only has 10/100)
2-bay NAS
Colcasac sleeve

Still waiting to order a rMBP, but for accessories I'm lookin at a

1.5tb seagate portable
Thunderbolt cable
mstand
Magic mouse (upgrade from my cheap little Microsoft mouse)
A hard case when there are some options.

  • SFbags Cargo Mambo Combo (Cargo bag & sleevecase w/flap)

  • Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse

  • Seagate Goflex Desk USB 3.0 drive (Thunderbolt is a waste of money with mechanical disks)

  • Currently thinking about an mStand.
I already have an external DVD reader/writer.

However, I still don't have my rMBP. :(:(

So far a USB SuperDrive and a WaterField Laptop sleeve (the horizontal style) as I'm planning on getting one of their Cargo Bags so I can haul my rMBP and my iPad around in it with all the peripherals.

I haven't yet decided on what size Cargo bag to get.

I haven't purchased anything really because there's nothing out for it yet.

I did buy a sleeve from HandmadeBerlin so I can carry this to the coffee shop safely. Still waiting on that to arrive. I am waiting for other things to come out in a month and I'll start looking around. That'll be fun! :D

I had a couple external hard drives that were plugged into my 2007 MBP with FireWire 400. Theres no FireWire on the rMBP, but fortunately the drives had eSATA ports. I bought a couple USB 3.0 to eSATA adapters and a 7-port USB 3.0 hub. I don't recommend getting a 7-port hub, because it looks like all the options out there provide them with under-powered power-supplies. I'm probably going to replace it with a 4-port hub soon.

I also picked up a Seagate 3TB External USB3.0 Hard drive, which works great so far.

And finally, after the first week I picked up the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 converter.

With RMBP:

Thunderbolt to Ethernet Adapter

Prior to RMBP, which I would have bought if I didn't already have them:

Time Capsule
Apple TV
Printer/Scanner Combo

I ordered the accessories first. Will wait to tax free weekend to order rMBPs with One to One. The accessories ordered so far for each of the rBMPs are:

Apple Care (via B&H)
Thunderbolt to Ethernet cable
Thunderbolt cable (to connect to external drives)
LaCie 2big 6TB thunderbolt drives (will be run as 3TB RAID 1)
Apple wired mouse and keyboard for use when home
USB Superdrive (one to be shared between the rMBPs)

Remaining:
3TB USB drive for Time Machine on wife's rMBP. I will continue to use the 3TB Time Capsule that backs up my Hack.
Still looking for which sleeves to get. I think the wife will like the purple Incase sleeve. If mama ain't happy....;)

Would you recommend the iCarbon?

I wanted a black Air and this was as close as I could get.
The carbon fiber pattern is embossed and a plus.

Always got positive comments on it from other Air owners.
Not looking for affirmation, just saying there is a market out there for a black machine.

Another plus was when I removed the skins to sell the Air, it looks like new.
Not a scratch or mark anywhere.

I would recommend for the rMBP.

I would not recommend the black carbon fiber piece that fits on top of the track pad.
It removes that smooth glass feel and reminds me of filing the fingertips to open a safe.

My RMBP is replacing my 1,1 MP so keyboard, mouse and 30" acd will be used with it. I have however picked up the following to work with my incoming 2.6/512/16 RMBP and my 11/i7/128/8 MBA:

M Rain stand - stunning!
LaCie thunderbolt to esata hub
New booq bag to carry both
Thunderbolt to dual dvi cable
Thunderbolt cable

Still on my list are:

Usb3 enclosure for a 256GB SSD
Belkin thunderbolt hub
Joli sleeves for both

What "Thunderbolt to dual dvi cable"?

So far..

Apple Wireless Keyboard ($40 from Craigslist :D)
Macbook Air SuperDrive ($35 from eBay :D:D)
Refurbished Thunderbolt Display ($910 after tax, ouchhh)

Still planning on

Buffalo USB3.0/TB 1tb HDD
Rain Design stand

Hard Graft 3Fold
Wrappers Alcantara Union Jack sleeve

WD 2tb USB3 Passport
Mini Nifty Drive
Wacom Intuos 4 Wireless
Apple Wireless Keyboard for my desk
i1 display 2 for display calibration
Time Capsule for backups
Extra power adapters

A bunch of Apple TVs and Airport Expresses distributed around my house for whole house audio and Airplay goodness.

Thank you everyone for sharing your accessories. It has helped me pick up a few for the following for myself:

Aiport Extreme
Magic Mouse

The only accessory I got was the gigabit ethernet adaptor.

I bought and returned. My USB gigabit works fine.

----------

Whats needed is a real hub/dock. The ones announced seem like they'll be lacking by the time they hit the street almost 2 years after the release of thunderbolt.

I have having power, 2 display port and one USB cable hanging off my rMBP

Also, does a true thunderbolt to 2 DVI splitter exist?
