I just installed AdBlock Plus.

It's free, and seems to be doing a good job.

You? And is is free or paid for?

I am using Adguard for a while now on all of my Apple devices and it is working well.
Compared to some other adblockers (eg Adblock Plus), Adguard definitely blocks the most (which is good).

On the Mac it is free, on my mobile devices I am using the Pro version of Adguard.

I've uninstalled AdBlock, and am installing AdGuard.

Thanks for the info.

Edit: So many options?? Think I'll go back to AdBlock. Thanks, though.

I was using AdGuard on iOS and Mac (without the one that reads everything enabled). But I’ve just moved back to 1Blocker, as none of their extensions are so intrusive. Plus, they still have an offer on subscriptions at the moment, so a year up front was very reasonable.

How do I know which one read everything and which one doesn't?

When you go into Safari settings and view the various enabled extensions, there are several for AdGuard, but if you read the description of each, there is only one which says it has access to, well, essentially every single thing you do. It specifically mentions things like access to passwords and so on.

I can personally recommend https://nextdns.io/
It's a system-wide DNS blocker with really good configurability - basically a PiHole in the cloud.
Free up to 300k requests/month which is more than enough for any kind of normal user.

That is for home WiFi use, and not for those with mobile device connection, unless I misread the website.
It works both for home use AND mobile connections. I'm using it on my desktop PC and on my mobile devices.
There are apps available for all platforms. It even works without an app if you configure it manually here https://apple.nextdns.io/ and then import it into your iOS 14 DNS settings.

I use AdBlock Pro (Mac App Store). It's paid but reasonably priced.

The reason I like it is because the controls are very granular, so you can choose specifically how you want your experience. It's enabled me to remove several other extensions as this does the job.

Is 1Blocker working on M1 Macs? Last I tried it wasn’t blocking anything.

Best one is uBlock Origin that's open source, free and been around since 2014 but only available for Chrome based browsers like Chrome (what I'm using), Firefox and Edge.
