I went to about 3 drinking parties when I was 15... Drank about 3 beers are the first, the other two I didn't really drink at all. Wasn't for me.

Went to a work party at age 18 and had some vodka mixed drinks, decided it STILL wasn't for me... haven't had alcohol since.

I am now 20 and have been offered alcohol by family members at family parties (birthdays, holidays, etc.) and always turn it down. My father believes that if you are old enough to go to war for this country, you are old enough to drink-- so don't judge my family's parenting... I think it makes sense, I just don't like to drink.

I actually have given up soda and coffee too! Try to drink only water or low sugar juices... I cheat from time to time though. 0:)

I took my first drink about 3 weeks ago. My mom left a corona on the counter. She said i could have a sip. Tasted like ***.
About 1 1/2 years ago. I had a sleepover at a friends. He had a fridge with beer in the garage. Him and another kid had maybe a bottle each. Two max. Thankfully I said nah. Sad because both those kids, Im pretty sure, smoke weed now.
It really changed for me though not having heavy drinkers as parents. Both parents rarely have a drink at dinner. And they also make sure one of them doesnt drink if they need to drive home.

What are you, 9?

ps; Carona is about as good as it gets with gas station beer. I only drink it when I'm already drunk but once you acquire the taste, you'll always give a nod to the dude who brings it to the party. And what's the problem with people who smoke weed?

Im just saying that theyre leading some pretty ****** up lives now. Its sad because one was my best friend about 3 years ago. Now he is the kinda guy I would hate.
I dont hate them because they smoke weed. That I dont mind. Its just one has changed for the worse in my eyes. I really cant explain it....
And no I am 14.

Here (in Australia), kids at about late 15's, 16's start drinking at parties.

Lolwut? That is new to me!

I'm 15 (turning 16 next week) and none of my friend's parties have had alcohol involved (I'm from Sydney BTW). And I go out quite a bit with friends! We normally drink Red Bull or V instead.

When I drink alcohol... it's only with my parents. And not that often. Normally it's a few sips of wine/beer/one shot (but the most I've had was half a bottle of fruit-flavoured champagne at a very important celebration).

Despite the fact I drank that much at that very important celebration, I seriously do not see the importance and 'cool factor' of drinking alcohol underage. Sure, it calms people down, but at 15-17?

(British) Started drinking when i was 16 and im only 17 now. A night out consists of about 10 pints and other alchoholic beverages.

Well, I live in southern Georgia and kids start drinking down here as early as 13. Some realize it's not all too great and stop, while others take it too, too far. I am 15 years old and totally underage, but some of the people I go to school with are getting wasted constantly. I work as wait-staff for a catering company, so at weddings I'm exposed to A LOT of alcohol. I usually choose not to drink it at all, but I've tasted a few things here and there just to see how it tastes. Also, I'm never really exposed to alcohol a lot at home because my dad can't drink because of some medication he takes, and my mother drinks a glass or two of wine every now and then. However, my grandpa usually has a glass of red wine daily to help his cholesterol levels. I guess it hasn't harmed him since is 78 and still extremely active. All in all, I'm in no way against legal drinking nor do I think it's bad too get somewhat drunk. But as far as illegally goes, I think it's just plain stupid. Just my $0.02. :)

14 when I was first drunk, but had small amounts from when I was a small child.

Underage purchasing at shops from friends at 15, visiting pubs when I was 16. Parties from 15 onwards with excessive quantities available purchased by parents/friends/whoever. Heavy drinking through University - ~100 units per week.

I now have a rather reasonable amount, drink a couple of nights a week, < 25 units per week.

We were drinking at around 13-14, and smoking pot right around there as well. For our area that was about par. It was mainly drinking in parks and wooded areas kind of thing. This is also about 30 years ago, so it was a different time - the drinking age was only 18 then.

Your gonna get innacurate information because anyone that is drinking early on is not gonna be on this site im an exception, drinking at 15

I started drinking regularly (in the sense of going out in bars) at 18, but many of my friends started as early as 14. I would have too, but my parents were, erm, strict, to say the least. Seems like they're afraid of alcohol. As long as getting drunk doesn't become a habit, I see nothing wrong.

These days a lot of kids (at least where I'm from... Bay Area suburbs) start trying it at around 13, and by high school age (14-18) it becomes commonplace to drink at social gatherings. The cool kids are drinking a fair amount by the time they are 14-15, and by the time they reach college it can get pretty out of control, so in college the 18-21 crowd drink a lot (not true for all schools)

I started drinking pretty young compared to most, when I was 12. Had a problem with it for a bit. (I also did some really stupid substances that I'm so relieved I never made a habit of.) But I had a really bad experience with a couple of friends I don't want to talk about, and toned it waaay down. I still drink every so often with friends, but I don't like to do it a lot because I'm the kind of person who does not know my limit (nor do I care at that point) and can make a real ass of myself.

My mother drank while I was still in the womb thus I started intaking alcohol "intravenously" pre-birth... so 22 years now.

meh almost 20 tried when i was like 15 or 16 and didnt really care for it legal 18 where i am but meh more money in my pocket i guess.

I can actually tell you the exact date I had my first drinking experience, August 25th, 2001, as it was the same night R&B singer Aaliyah died. It was Popov Vodka, absolutely awful stuff, lol. And damn the hangover the next day. I was 16 at the time, and I couldn't have been that drunk as I still remember it very well to this day.

The Netherlands legal age to drink 16yrs.

Started to drink at age 12yrs in my parents house and only at special occasions, birthdays and weddings and such. I was only allowed beer, at the first sign that I was getting slightly drunk I was cut off. (This was the early 60's)

Around the age of 14 or 15 I think. I hated the taste of alcohol, even now I only drink it to be polite at social gatherings, so I didn't get "t0tally w@steddddddd" often but that's when I remember all of that starting.
