Look like an update to the Roxio apps (namely Popcorn as it seems to be the most broken) might be comming soon. Hopefully before I get my copy in a couple more weeks.

How about some games

I want to play some games with my new G5. Anyone tested Call of duty or Jedi knight - Jedi academy. And what's the go with UT 2004???

Good news about a Popcorn update. Hopefully it'll be out very soon.

Re: NAV Updating Issues

I'm having problems with Norton Antivirus 9.03, live update problems and real time protection...

I was having such issues with NAV updating that had nothing to do with Tiger (issue presented in 10.3.9), aside from having NAV in the first place (SystemWorks was free from where I work, I'll take free anyday).

Here's what I found that worked for me: Go to http://www.symantec.com, downloads section, Virus Updates, and click the Download Virus Definitions Update (Intelligent Updater Only), follow prompts from there. Bigger file than the usual periodic updates, but I had no problems running LiveUpdate after installing it.

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, just adding my experience.

As always, Digidesign (Pro Tools) is holding me back form an immediate upgrade. If my Digi001 would work with another audio app, I would so be moving away from Digi. Grrr. :)

as you very well know, digidesign has dropped support of 001 hardware and therefore post-6.4 protools builds are off-limits for you. and as the first tiger-compatible protools will be 6.9.something, that leaves you totally behind.

i suggest you partition your hard drive and install all your audio apps for a panther installation (10.3.4 is the best for protools), and then install tiger for a different partition, where you keep your non-audio stuff. that's what i'm going to do when i have a week to spend....

DVDbackup is not working properly in Tiger. It only recognizes around 3GB of any DVD I've put in......including those that are DL DVD's.

EasyWMA won't work which is really upsetting. :(

It just jumps around in the dock, with no little black arrow to hold it up and it never gets any further than that. It's such an awesome app, I hope they fix this soon.

Maybe it's just my system, but I can't get the Unreal Tournament 2004 installer to work. It bombs out every time. No UT2004! I may go back to 10.3 if this one isn't fixed quickly.

I seem to recall some kind of installer fix that was posted when UT2004 first came out. Some people needed it--I didn't. But maybe you're experiencing a problem that pre-dated Tiger? I really don't know what triggered the issue to happen for only some people--but maybe that same fix will take care of it now.

I may be confused, since I never needed it, but I THINK it was an installation failure like you describe. Let us know if you find the fix and it helps.

TI Connect from texas instruments is uber buggy under tiger... one crash.. and when i go to create matrix's and other stuff.. it just blocks the windows out... i can't customize anything... damn... i thought tiger was already to go? and the java errors? cmon' apple... that .4.1 better fix these silly issues.

I can't use Windows Media Player - it just quits when I try to open it and also none of the different versions of Bittorent work for me - cant...live...without...them!!! Argghhhh

Did you re-install it? WMP9 works fine on my Tiger install.

Yeah, tried to reinstall it but it still just quits as soon as I try to open it...really annoying...

xACT doesn't want to work for me, my solution; downloaded MacFLAC instead.
Did you try reinstalling? xACT is essentially a wrapper around a bunch of command-line audio conversion tools, which the installer places in /usr/local/bin. So after upgrading to Tiger, if you Archive and Installed (not sure about a simple Upgrade), you would be left with xACT in /Applications, but the underlying tools in /usr/local/bin would have been zapped.

Tiger borked my MX1000 software, it's not even listed in System Preferences. Off to Logitech to find it.

Woks fine here. I did do a clean install though, but had the installer backed up. Try running it again. That should fix it up.

On another note: I thought Stuffit Expander had broke... but I was wrong. Tiger doesn't install it. Back ups are great!

UT2004 is working fine for me... Not sure why it isn't working for the one person posting. I'd try a reinstall if I were them.

Wacom tablet drivers are completely broken.

I downloaded the latest 4.79-2 Wacom driver, installed it, re-booted and got a message about a security issue with three options - one of which was "fix".
I opted for FIX, re-booted and my Wacom tablet worked perfectly.

That's just the problem. I did a wipe and clean install, and the UT2004 install program bombs out on me. I can't even get the stinking thing installed! :(
