I prefer Huggies myself.. it's a much better fit around my theighs.. minimizing embarassing leaks.

I thought Luvs were cheaper and just as good as the expensive brands. Man, this is good to know before we actually have to stock up.

If you're planning on taking baby advice from yellow, you might want to rethink your options... ;)

Pampers are the best we've found. Plus you get "Pampers Points" which allows you to turn the diapers you purchase into more useless crap for your kid to play with.

Really, though, we like 'em. We've only tried Luvs when they've used somebody else's diapers on them at daycare, so I can't say too much about them. They never seem to fit as well, even though they're supposedly the right size.

See, this is what I don't understand. Most of our deadly animals are quite small, besides of course the crocs and the the sharks and even then you're not likely to see it coming.

You guys have bears and cougars and wolverines and stuff - big carnivores, ones you can see/hear coming from a while away and those you can't are still pretty big. If it was my choice I'd rather a quick death from something I never saw than being torn limb from limb by a hungry bear the size of a small cow.

Big scary death is way worse than sneaky sudden death.

Oh, and we drink because we can.

Having a glass of wine, waiting for my girl to come onto Skype
Watch for my posts to become more and more incoherent as time goes on.
And idly watching Mexico vs Angola.
The excitement never stops in the 'goat house.

Hear hear! I think that's going to be the bulk of my activity tonight as well. I've got some serious decisions to make about which one though. I just picked up my new Pinot Noirs, one with a WS rating of 93 and the high end with a WS rating of 96. Supposed to be the highest scoring Pinot Noir to come out of this region yet. But do I want to open that tonight, or a different bottle? Such difficult decisions....

I forgot you had weird wine rules there. I opened a bottle of Gavi di Gavi tonight and it's going down remarkably well - light but incredibly fruity.

Aside from BV, it looks like the London members are pretty much in agreement on their Friday evening activities...at least as far as the wine goes

Clos LaChance in San Martin has cracked the 2003 vintage of their Zinfandel.

Let me couch my enthusiasm for this wine this way: I normally dislike Zin. Normally

EDIT: Uh, oh. We're getting wine-y in this thread ;)

Nasty, the one I was talking about knocked out 500 homes in Canberra (national capital) in one night. Scariest thing I have ever seen and I saw it on the news...

Quick too, here's a gif. The residential areas are shown in yellow, the rest it basically bushland, mostly inaccessible.

Here's the one I was talking about. This shows the total burn area after about 5 days of fire. At the time I was living in Poway (you can see it on the map). At the same time as this was burning there were fires burning up in the mountains around Los Angeles to the north of us.

So. On the wine topic, I'm working my way through a bottle of Sicilian Shiraz (why do they use the term Shiraz instead of Syrrah?), bought from Waitrose £4.99. And it is d.i.s.g.u.s.t.i.n.g uuuughh. Pure dedication to alcohol is what's keeping me going. That, and it's a lovely evening to sit in the garden. :)

Oh yes... I've had 2/3 of the bottle already. Decided to just make a bit of pasta as it's going straight to my head

It depends where in the world you are.. in the US and France, it's known as the "syrrah" grape. In Australia, it's called "shiraz". They are the same thing, however.

Ask and ye shall receive.
Sorry about the Waitrose stuff though- at that price I tend to ignore European and go for Aussie, Chilean or South African.
And how much am I looking forward to my holiday ;) ?
EDIT: I type way too slowly :)
